When you arrive in Nevers, a great way to explore is by following the blue plaques around the town, which not only point you in the right direction of Nevers’ most interesting places, but also tells you a little about them.

April until late October in Nievre is the best period to be in the department as the changing colours of the countryside make the department even more picturesque, and climatic conditions are ideal for walking. Temperatures average 26˚C in July and August.
