The apartment has two bedrooms, a double with shower room and WC, with plenty of storage space in the two large wardrobes; the second bedroom has twin beds, a shower room and two large wardrobes. There is a cloakroom off the hallway. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, four ring electric hob, oven and grill. The lounge is bright, modern and very comfortable with two leather sofas DVD and CD player. The TV receives English, Italian and French channels also English radio. There is a dining area that will accommodate six people. Outside, on the terraces and in the garden there are sun beds and dining furniture where alfresco eating can be enjoyed at the same time as taking in the wonderful views of old Menton and the port. The view from the terrace of the Mediterranean stretches all the way round to the Italian border. Underground secured garage.

Menton is just 15 mins by train from the centre of Monaco, the marina and beaches just a short walk, the old covered market is open daily, the botanical gardens of Val Rahmeh are about 10 mins walk. The pedestrian shopping area of Menton, with numerous bars, cafes and restaurants, is about a 20 minute walk - although there are a number of restaurants much closer. If you don't like walking buses are frequent. There is a weekly market in nearby Ventimiglia (Just across the border in Italy) only 5 mins by train, with the famous Hanbury Gardens. Further on and well worth a visit is the beautiful city of San Remo. The Basilica St. Michel in old Menton has a large plaza were concerts are often held, there are many festivals throughout the year - the orange and lemon in February for instance. For the more energetic the ski slopes of Limone are about 1 hour away. Of course Nice (40mins) with the new tram system to take you around the city is a must.

Great Apartment, Great Location, Well Managed

We stayed at the apartment in June 2009 with our 16 year old daughter and her friend. It is located in a very nice area on the hillside to the east of Menton close to the Italian border and Menton Garavan Station (4 mins walk). The station has trains running every half hour between Ventimiglia and Grasse giving easy access to all areas of the Cote without a car. Garavan in my opinion (but we do live in the center of a town close to everything) has limited facilities with a bar and a shop on the coast road (7 mins walk) and there are two restaurants on the upper road close to the Italian border, one very good but expensive (12 mins walk), just over the border there are two shops and a bar with an amazing view. However, its only a pleasant 20 mins slow walk into Menton with its multiple shops, bars and restaurants, there are two bus routes that stop near the bar in Garavan if its too hot to walk, and also the train.

The apartment is almost new and was fully equipped and the description is very accurate. It is on the ground floor but it has a good outlook as the block is built on a terraced hillside, it has its own private garden as well as a shared pool area which was very well maintained. It is managed locally by Shirley and I cant compliment her enough, from my first email to the returning of the deposit she was very efficient and helpful and even arranged for taxis to and from the airport at a good price.

So this is a great place to spend some time, you can relax by the pool or explore the whole coast easily without having to worry about parking, totally recommended.

Although we walked everywhere and it wasn't a problem, it is very hilly, so for those who don't usually walk I would recommend a car and use the underground parking that is included with this apartment. ..and I forgot to mention the Market at Ventimiglia on Fridays, its huge and has a great relaxed atmosphere and there were lots of bargains even with the reduced value of the GBP.

Stylish and comfortable, great location

A lovely property which met high expectations, from the stylish decor to the lovely views and shared pool, and excellent location close to the town, but away from the bustle of Menton. Although not the cheapest apartment to rent, it was worth the extra for the elegant pool, quiet and attractive surroundings and convenient location.
A compact but well laid out apartment, the access straight onto the garden and moments from the pool made it a great place to relax and we spent a lot of time just chilling in the garden and by the pool, which was normally quiet even though it was peak season.
The property is clean and well maintained and provides everything you need and we had good customer service from booking through to completion of the holiday.
Although a car is helpful, it is possible to walk into town if you have the energy - in any case parking in town in high season is difficult even by London standards. Lots of great places are within an easy drive - along to Cannes or up into the mountains, to Monte Carlo or pretty seaside towns. Italy is a walk away and fun to visit too. Menton is an ideal destination if you want the interest of a lovely old town, with lots of shops and restaurants and even night life, plus yaughts and seaside activities, and this apartment provides the best of both worlds being near enough to enjoy the town, while far enough above it to enjoy the views and peace. We would definitely recommend it and hope to visit again (euro exchange rate dependent as this is a pricey area). Good for those with children (not the very young as rather nice furniture!) and ground floor access and lifts throughout the building to garage etc make it pretty accessible too. Perhaps ideal to visit in the warm months before or after peak season as the beaches and streets do get very busy indeed with French and Italian holiday makers and the beaches are in any case compact (and on the whole not sandy).

A splendid oasis

The apartment is exactly as it was described: a bright, sunny open entry and kitchen opening into the living-room, two bedrooms each with a shower-room. The view to the east is gorgeous: big trunks of palm-trees, in the background the sea-alps against the azur-blue sky. The little garden and the terrace are also great to relax and to enjoy the view to the mediterranean sea. The furniture and decoration are very nice and tastful. The apartment as well as the whole property are very clean and very well maintained. Everything is exactly as we have been looking for (a CD-player would be great).
We can recommend this property to any of our friends. Besides, the place is also great for doing sightseeing-trips into the lovely area. Moreover you can easily travel there by plane - without renting a car. The train station and busstop are nearby. So - it's a really fantastic place to spend your holidays.

The perfect holiday apartment.

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, ages 5 and 10. We were very impressed by this apartment. It had everything we required. It is clean, modern and well presented. It is perfectly located, within easy walking distance of the beach and Menton town. The terrace provides a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the sun, and offers breathtaking views of the sea and the town. The swimming pool is well maintained with safety alarms for the children. We had a terrific holiday and will certainly use it the next time we go to France. The rental agents are friendly, helpful and professional.
