Villa in charming landscaped boutique resort w/pool in coastal Datca.
Villa Kempin is set in the small and friendly Marphe Resort in a tranquil area around two kilometres outside the quaint, traditional port town of Datca. Our villa was built in 2004, is cool, spacious & traditionally furnished to a high standard with antiques and carpets. Consisting of 2 floors, 2 large bedrooms with en-suites. The open plan ground floor opens into a small garden with seating area. Fully equiped with DVD, TV, A/C, Wi-Fi. The villa is just 2 mins walk from the hotel, via a fairly steep and stepped stone lane decorated with Turkish tiles, antique stone-work and flowering pots. The resort consists of 11 other villas, 9 apartments, a beautiful pool with a children’s area and pool-side bar and restaurant. The complex has been designed to give the feeling of traditional Turkish architecture: cool white buildings, stone walls, bougainvillea, and colourful ceramic pots. A small wooded area provides privacy for the villas by separating them from the pool area.

HOW TO GET TO VILLA KEMPIN: There are many direct flights to either Bodrum or Dalaman Airport. From most other European/Middle East destinations you can fly into Istanbul and then connect on a domestic flight. Recommendations can be given for hotels in Istanbul. BODRUM: The airport is approximately 45 mins from the ferry terminal. The Datca ferry departs everyday at 9 am and 5 pm and takes around two hours. A bus collects you from the ferry port and 15 minutes later you will be in Datca where you can take a short taxi ride to the villa. DALAMAN: It will take you approx 2.5 hrs via a very scenic road. Options include taking a luxury mini-bus/taxis: we can order this to meet you at the airport and bring you directly to the hotel. It costs approximately Euros 100 and seats 6. Otherwise you can take the public transport system which is cheap, direct, efficient and safe. Please contact us if you would like instructions on using the public transportation.

Things to Do - Datca
Datca town is about 2km walk from the villa and is set on a beautiful harbor, lined with sailing boats, restaurants and tourist shops. Tourism is on a small scale and has been tastefully developed and Datca provides a welcoming Turkish experience. At night the harbor comes alive, with families mingling and enjoying the restaurants and wandering along the promenade. There is one nightclub for those seeking night life! There are safe swimming beaches with very clear water all around town, all having lovely views of the nearby Greek Islands of Kos & Rhodes. You can enjoy the range of cafes and restaurants that are directly on the beach. Sailing boats and lessons are available. There is a Migros supermarket within 10 minutes walk of the villa. Alternatively the Saturday market is a wonderful experience, with locals coming to sell their fresh food and vegetables and 'designer' goods!
Around Datca
Datca is situated on a peninsula with pine & olive-covered hills leading down to sparkling bays and traditional villages and restaurants. You can still observe traditional life in the villages where olive and almond-farming stilll continues. Several days can be spent exploring the peninsula either by scooter, bus or rental car. At the tip of the peninsula is Knidos, the site of historic ruins, just 45 minutes drive away. There are also a myriad of coves and swimming beaches with little tourism. 15 km from Datca is a new 'Water Park' with a pool, beach, restaurant and the grand total of 2 slides! The children love it. For those seeking shopping, tourism and night-life - Marmaris and Bodrum make worthwhile day trips.
Boats / Wind Surfing / Sailing
At the Datca harbour there are many daily boat excursions. There are fishing trips or excursions to the Greek islands of Symi and Rhodes. (Visas are required for some nationalities). Ahmet also knows the boat owners and would be able to help you charter a boat. A twice-daily ferry service runs to Bodrum – tickets can be purchased from the ticket office in Datca or from the ferry. Round trip is TL 25m. A bus takes you to the ferry port just outside of Datca. You can also take cars on the ferry but need to book ahead. Private yachts or gulets can be organised, with sufficient notice. In 2007 we hired a boat and sailed from Bodrum to the Greek Islands for a week. Sailing lessons for both children and adults and wind-surfing hire available in Datca.
Other Activities Local market every Saturday.
