Superb view.
Clean.
Good shower
Double bed has excellent foam mattress: ensured great nights' sleep, rare for us!
Great location: 5 min walk downhill into Barmouth.
BUT flat smelt damp, has demudifier running in back bedrooms: one of which has no windows and feels dungeony.
Own parking space but a bit tricky to get into.
Owner's Response: We would like to address the comment about the apartment smelling damp. The apartment is built into the cliff side, as are many properties in Barmouth.and this does affect the rooms in that it requires constant ventilation to enable the air to move around to prevent the walls from retaining any moisture. This room has one window which we try to keep open at the top, but isnt always possible if it is raining or cold so we introduced a dehumidifier and this is a big help in circulating the air and keeping any damp at bay. The dehumidifier is on a timer and operates between 10am and 6pm so as not to disturb guests during the evening. Unfortunately, the dehumidifier has at times been switched off by guests and if for any great length of time it isnt able to do its job. Upon inspection of the apartment this week we found the weather strip had come off the back door and due to heavy rainfall water had seeped in through the bottom and wet a small area of carpet by the door. This would have impacted on the moisture levels and may have caused the room to feel or smell damp. This has now been addressed and all is in order again.
With regards to the room feeling dungeony, the layout is, as some guests describe it, "quirky" and is something we plan to address over the winter months. We do make people aware of the layout before proceeding with a booking and it is stated in our advertising that the layout may not be suitable for everyone.
Parking is at a premium in Barmouth and the space we provide and its approach is more than adequate for all vehicles. There is also additional space for parking behind the apartment.
