From Lisbon airport, north up the A8, it's only about 45 minutes drive to Casa d'Alma. Casa d'Alma is 5 minutes walk from the front gates of Obidos, a walled medieval town with its own castle, plenty of restaurants, cafes and charm. This fully restored cottage is in the village of Pinhal, and has three double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a kitchen and open plan lounge with log fire and a conservatory/dining room. In addition there is a courtyard for sunbathing and a built in BBQ. Fully furnished with one king size four poster bed, one double bed, and three 2 meter long single beds, a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave and television with satellite reception (BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4). Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen, antiallergenic duvets and pillows and towels are provided, and on your arrival you will find juice, water and wine in the fridge along with cheese, ham, fresh bread and lots of other 'Essentials' in the kitchen cupboards for you.

Local Information

The village of Pinhal is situated just outside the castle walls of Obidos. It is an old village just 5 minutes walk from the main gates of Obidos. There are plenty of big supermarkets within 5 or 10 minutes drive, but best of all, the village mini-market/bar/coffee shop is about 30 seconds away just round the corner from the house. So if you forget anything vital, wine, matches, eggs you just pop round anytime between 09.00 in the morning and 10.00 at night.

Obidos Events

The Town of Obidos has many festivals, concerts and events each year, In 2008 These include: The 6th International Festival of Chocolate in Obidos 14 – 24 February 2008 It just does not get any better for Chocolate lovers ! AND The Medieval Fair, Obidos July 2008 A fantastic Fair, so much to see and different themes every day, what an experience, sitting at a wooden table as the sun goes down in the middle of a medieval market. Smelling the woodsmoke from the open fire over which your meat is being roasted and being surronded by jugglers, street vendors and market traders, all in costume.

Surfing, Golf, beaches and restaurants

Some of the best surfing in Europe can be experienced in Peniche at Baleal beach which is 15 minutes drive away. Fantastic golfing at the Praia D'El Rey Golf Resort about 20 minutes drive. There are many beaches and seaside resorts to visit in the local area and a huge number of restaurants to enjoy.
