Many come to simply relax but if you wish to get out and about you could explore the old town of Bosa or the Catalan town of Alghero. You could enjoy walking, cycling or horse riding in the surrounding countryside. The area also attracts birdwatchers, nature lovers and those interested in the history of the ancient civilizations of Sardinia, evidence of which exists in the form of relics dotted across the island and the Roman/ Phoenecian ruins of Tharros on the Oristano peninsula, also noted for its beaches and wet lands abundant with wildlife.
The region is rich in culture, history and tradition The festivals of Bosa are a mark of this; . In February Bosa goes wild for their carnival, on the first Sunday of August there is a boat procession for Santa Maria del Mare down river and in September there are celebrations for Nostra Signora dei Regni Alti, starting with a beautiful procession and followed by food and wine being offered in the streets of the old town by the residents.
