The villa is located on national parkland just outside the village of La Zubia and is based at the foot of the Sierra Nevada ski and mountain range- The resort of Borreguiles in the Sierra Nevada is a fully equipped ski and mountaineering resort with spectacular piste runs. The villa has fabulous views over Granada - particularly pretty at night. The Alhambra palace is 15-20 minus drive away as is the City of Granada itself with fantastic places to eat and drink. Cumbres Verdes is 15 minutes away and has some spectacular walks in the national park -waterfalls and stunning scenery is the norm. For the fitness fanatics there are mountain treks, mountain biking, pony trekking. Golf, etc or jump in the car and be sat on the beach within 30-40 mins....Motril, Salobrena, Nerja all lovely resorts with fantastic beaches. For wine and Sherry buffs a short drive can take you to the sherry region or a few hours by car can get you to Madrid if you fancy exploring Spain from a luxurious base.

Ski the Sierra Nevada/go to the beach

Stunning ski resort- ski the 3500m high 80km of piste and be literally 'on top of the world' English speaking ski school and an abundance of ski hire shops in the resort- for a small charge there is a daily run up and down to the ski resort in a grand voyager people carrier if you need it. Alternatively head down to Motril and choose from an abundance of small 'cala's ' to visit on the Costa tropical and sit and have a drink and tapas on the seafront and watch the world go by. Ideal for families, friends, the elderly or infirm as there is disabled access (a lift) at the villa so no need for stairs if you don't want to. The ancient Alhambra with it's eclectic mixture architecture and culture and the vibrant city itself with the Moorish quarter, stylish bullring with it's smart mixture of cafe bars and restaurants. Walking in the National Park just past Cumbres Verdes.....take a picnic walk to a waterfall in the middle of the mountains- breathtaking.
