Self-catering apartment in a romantic atmosphere of an ancient village in the countryside of beautiful Tuscany. Gavillaccio is located in an extremely panoramic area bordering Chianti and is at the centre of an artistic triangle which includes the cities of Florence, Siena and Arezzo. Vacationing at Gavillaccio is ideal for those who are interested in complete relaxation in touch with nature and also having the possibility in easily reaching the most important artistic and historical sites of Tuscany and Umbria. Among them are to be mentioned the small romantic ancient churches of Valdarno, the most important of which is S. Romolo at Gaville, the medieval towns of S. Gimignano, Cortona, Volterra and the park of the casentinese forests with the hermitages of Verna and Camaldoli, which were quite dear to S. Francesco; last but not least there is also Chianti with its splendid farm houses, medieval villages and ancient castles.

On the ground floor there is the living room with a double bed sofa and fire place, the dining-kitchen area with oven and dishwasher and a small bathroom with shower. A panoramic garden is ideal for enjoying dinners in the quietness of the Tuscan countryside. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, one with a panoramic loggia. There is one bathroom with shower and separate walk-in wardrobe. The apartment has satellite TV and adsl.

A great place, a great hostess and family who provided excellent customer service. A wonderful / exquisite bucolic view, super apartment with all mod cons [Number 8]. Within easy travel distance of Chianti local roads and Tuscan and Umbrian historic towns by car via Autostrada A1.

Tricky rural roads for us as Aussies - Italian roads here are narrow and windy, but once used to them not so problematic. Lovely retreat and imagine is fabulous in Summer for either couples, friends or families.

The description was accurate and I was pleasantly surprised on arrival to find a comfortable, clean, maintained and well appointed apartment.

Figline Valdarno offered the usual local town amenities and was pleasant and comforting in a way, but Chianti and other rural historic towns offered the excitement and splendour of typical Tuscany. Greve in Chianti was smallish, welcoming and wonderful as was the hill top town of Cortona, a reasonable drive away on the A1.

Would return in a flash! And recommend Il Gavillaccio holiday accommodation apartments to anyone, including friends
