Villamartin Golf Course:
Established over 20 years ago, Villamartin is without doubt one of the finest golf and residential complexes on the whole of the Costa Blanca, having hosted the Mediterranean Open in 1994. It is set in lush natural parkland, with olive trees and colourful oleander lining the fairways. Playing over undulating fairways to well protected greens, no two holes are alike on this superb course. A ravine comes into play on the inward part of the course and the par 5 14th and the par 3 17th are spectacular holes on a course that is always in excellent condition. The greens are not too small and each hole is completely different. There are well placed bunkers and fast greens, making this a challenging course for all playing levels. Campoamor:
Only two miles from Villamartin, Campoamor was opened in 1989 and, although not as hazardous as Villamartin, it is the most panoramic of the courses in the region. The expansive fairways, excellent greens and the lakes deceive the player somewhat, making this is a long and testing course with six 'dog legs' to keep you on your toes. Campoamor has a new majestic clubhouse and restaurant and offers the usual services such as club and trolley hire and practice areas. Course detail: 18 Holes, Par 71, 5830m. Professional/Men/Ladies tees. A handicap card is required.
Las Ramblas:
This course offers, as the name suggests, a wonderful rambling course through valleys and over rugged terrain with the occasional water hazard, an excellent challenge! Maybe not for the fainthearted. Las Ramblas was opened in 1991, and offers a challenge for all standards of player. This course has excellent views and is very mountainous with a dramatic contrasting landscape; the rocky terrain is spectacular, with elevated tees, narrow fairways and lightning fast greens. Careful planning is required to play well on this course. Course detail: 18 Hole, Par 72, 5770m. Professional/Men/Ladies tees plus a driving range. Green fee: approx` 42 euros. Golf:
La Finca La Finca is a new course near San Miguel (about six miles from Torrevieja and Villamartin), with fantastic greens. It is long, with water everywhere. La Finca is the newest golf course in the Southern Costa Blanca area, having been splendidly built in September 2000 by the developers of the Villamartin golf course. Located near the towns of Algorfa and Orihuela, and a relatively short journey to the superb beaches of Guardamar and La Marina, the location has magnificent views inland towards the beautiful mountainous landscape in the north.
