Villa Petros is a spacious two bedroom first floor apartment with 3 balcony's overlooking sea/mountains and a large pool shared only with 4 other villas the development 300 metres from the beach and only 5 minutes drive to kavros , georgioupoli or lake kournas (the only fresh water lake on Crete ) or approx 15 minutes walk. There are plenty of tavernas and shops and water sports there is also a tourist train that runs to these locations. Approx 40 mins drive from Chania airport and 70 mins from Heraklion the apartment was brand new in may 2007 and the location would be great for walking, painting, fishing and all water sports **please put * janet@building.karoo.co.uk* in your address book so anti spam will accept reply **

Villa Petros is a two bedroom apartment on the kournas beach development of only 60 villas . the idyllic setting is only 300metres from the safe sandy beach and 5minutes drive to the only fresh water lake kournas with has spectacular views and plenty of tavernas/pedalos ideal for young and old alike for swimming /relaxing. georgioupoli and kavros has all the amenities eg supermarkets, banks family run tavernas and is only 15 minutes walk or 6 euros in taxi if you wish not to drive there is also a tourist train that runs between locations. **BOOKINGS OF THREE WEEKS OR MORE OVER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS WILL RECEIVE £200 DISCOUNT**

Villa Petros is approx 30km from rethymnon and 25km from Chania the 6km stretch of safe sandy beach is only 300metres the north west of Crete has ample activities for non beach days. There is water parks museums and the lovely Venetion harbour at Chania fantastic tavernas and shopping in Rethymon and sightseeing at Samaria & Impros Gorges .Georgioupoli and Kavos are local with banks /cash machines and supermarkets there are many family run tavernas and if you like to relax and have a drink taxis cost 6 euros. or sitting around the pool that is lit up at night is breathtaking with the scenery around it.

Villa Janet, lived up to our expectations. The villa was very spacious, clean and had everything you needed from an ironing board to lolly moulds. The Villa was complex was very quiet and most days even though we were their in July/August we were the only ones in the pool. The ppol even had inflatables for the kids. The nearest shops are about 20 moinut walk, so a hire car with small children is a must. Its too far to walk in the hot sun with two children. Janet ensured we had everything we needed and was an excellent source of information. We have bever booked a private holiday before and would definitely dot it again. Especially when we saw how busy the local hotels where, no queing in Villa Janet. It was perfect in everyway and we would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

We stayed in Villa Petros for two weeks in August 2008, and had a wonderful time. The villa had everything we needed-linen,beach towels, hair dryer, dishwasher, airconditioning, bbq, books, bucket/spade/snorkels(for the children) & lilos for the pool too!
We arrived following Jan & Charlie's perfect directions and found the villa all ready and set up to begin our holiday-we just got into our bathers and jumped into the pool! The weather was about 35 degrees for the whole two weeks & there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
We hired a car for the two weeks, which made it easy to drive to Kavros (5 mins away) to stock up on groceries. There is a supermarket, atm, butchers, fishmongers, bakery, cake patisserie as well as a children's fun park, tavernas & internet cafes(to check your emails) in Kavros.
Lake Kournas is beautiful and again about 5-10 mins drive away. The beach is also nearby and is clean, plenty of space to lie and the water temperature is perfect.
Hania is about 30mins drive from the villa and worth a visit, also Rethymino (15 min drive) & Georgipouli (10 min drive).
Eating out is reasonable, for a family of four we paid about 35 euros for a meal of three courses & a few glasses of wine. You can also stay in and cook in the villa-we used the bbq a few times.
The villa shares the pool with three others, so our children (aged almost 8 & 6.5) enjoyed playing with the other children that were staying in the other villas. It was very safe and everybody was extremely helpful & friendly.
It was a holiday that you can choose to relax by the pool everyday or do the touristy bit and explore. We did a bit of both and would highly reccommend Crete as a place to visit.
