I cannot rate this property highy enough - we have stayed in many porpeties all over Europe - this definitely came out the winner (according to my 9 and 5 year old also!!) Stream was exaclty as described and so much more - Francesca and Gloria were so helpful and welcoming! The property, lovingly restored, was spotlessly clean, so tastefully decorated - attention to detail second to none! We were welcomed with some lovely fresh bread, basic provisions and of course - a bottle of wine and from the moemnt we got our of our car the day we arrived, we realised we were somewhere special! It was an excellent base for exproring Chiant. Our guided tour of Florence (thank you Francesca!) was certainly a highlight - I am still dreaming of the Ice Cream!
You would definitly need a car and might be a little disappointed if you were looking for nightlife and bars close by (we weren't!!). The local restaurant in Montigonzi was fantastic, as was the one shop in the village underneath. But the Coop was only 10 minutes drive away.
My children adored the place and wanted to move in - think the pool had something to do with it but overall, we were made to feel very welcome - like we mattered! Thank you for some amazing memories!
Owner's Response: Yes, our property is definitevely a place for families, it is safe, the pool is wide enough to play and exercize, the garden full of animals to watch respectfully; there isn't any internet connection and pay TV, but it can be the opportunity to sit at the table or by the pool and talk of the beautiful places visited in the day time and the experience of living in a different country. A "slow vacation" in the area of "slow food"-
We made our best to set the house to help our guests to catch this feeling ....the rest is in your hands !
