This delightful charentaise farmhouse/ villa, which is ideal for summer holiday rentals, overlooks open countryside, sunflower fields and vineyards. The 5 bedroom farmhouse, totally renovated for holiday rentals, maintains a warm traditional feel with exposed beams, mellow stone walls and polished wooden floors. The holiday home offers great accommodation for couples, families or families sharing, sleeping up to 11 people plus a baby. The simply furnished bedrooms in a French country style overlook the walled garden and 10 x 5 swimming pool. The large fully equipped family size kitchen is perfect for recreating local French cuisine or early morning petit dejeneuer. The barn adjacent to the house is home to the bicycles, badminton net, table tennis table, tennis rackets, boules, pool inflatables and inflatable canoe. La Maison Charentaise, is situated in the lovely counrtyside village of Barbezieres close to the market town of Aigre and a leisurely drive through the countryside to the riverside towns of Jarnac and Cognac in the Poitou Charentes region of France. It is easy to reach the coast of La Rochelle and the beaches of Royan for a day trip. The Cathedral City of Angouleme( capital of the Charente) is the home of the classic car Race du Ramparts and has many bars and cafes spilling onto the narrow cobbled streets that will take you on enjoyable walks around this fascinating city that dates back to the 9th century. 18 hole golf courses are available at St Brice, Royan, Cognac and Saintes. Fishing and water sports are available along the banks of the river Charente or why not take a pony trek into the countryside. The farmhouse is set in the shadow of a 13th century Chateaux. Les Vacances de Monsieur Haydn, La Roche Posay, Vienne Festival of classical and chamber music held in La Roche Posay, Vienne. A series of four headline events and a hundred short performances, free of charge, by young musicians, high quality amateurs and students. Grand Pavois, La Rochelle 23-28 September A major event in the boating industry. It's the only International boat show registered by an association and led by professionals for professionals.

Beaches: Forty kilometers of glorious sandy beaches at La Rochelle and Royan are just over one hour’s drive away as is the Gironde estuary with its charming fishing villages. Both are recommended resorts for day visits. The shopping in La Rochelle is particularly good as are the restaurants.

The perfect place for a relaxing family holiday

We were delighted with this french farmhouse on the edge of Barazieres. It was very clean and really well maintained and decorated..The outside barn was fab for eating outside in the shade, followed by a table tennis tornament or even a swim in the pool. The surrounding farmland of sunflower fields and vineyards were really lovely and could be enjoyed on a bike ride .Cognac was well worth the visit as was La Rochelle .But if you just wanted to stay at home there were plenty of sun loungers and also a really big garden for games of rounders. Overall this property was beautiful .I would reccommend this property to anyone who needs to unwind,
