'Tyan' Tyan is a first floor property which is accessed by an external stone staircase and intimate conservatory. Light, airy and utilising its loft space Tyan has been carefully restored to retain its character beams, eaves and sloping roof. The beautiful ash and granite kitchen is fully fitted with dishwasher, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge and freezer. The contemporary open plan design leads into a large lounge with comfortable sofas, wool carpet and tranquil lighting. Large glass double doors open onto a balcony with spectacular views overlooking the Lakeland fells - G & T anyone? There are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom all with luxury furnishings and built in wardrobes. The bedrooms are serviced by a family bathroom with heated towel rails and there is an additional wc with washbasin. An additional 'Zed' bed can be provided if required. Tyan has a rural garden directly in front of it with garden furniture, bbq and shed for your kit

  • Reductions available for short breaks out of season or for two or more consecutive weeks. Please enquire with requested dates.
    Payment is preferred by cheque or internet bank transfer although paypal payments are accepted subject to a 3.5 % charge.
    A refundable deposit of 50% (10% non refundable) confirms your booking with the balance payable 4 weeks before arrival.
    A housekeeping deposit of £250 is required with final payment - this will be returned on day of departure or within 7 days (subject to checks). If preferred the deposit can be in form of a copy of credit card imprint upon arrival (similar to car hire companies)

Local Amienties: We are situated on the southern fringe of the Lake District National Park in pure isolation betwixt the festival town of Ulverston and the village of Lowick within the Crake valley. Less than three miles in one direction finds all the amenities of the popular market town of Ulverston with its wide choice of eclectic shops, inns and restaurants, a championship golf course, sports centre with swimming pool and gym. Two miles the other finds the Crake Valley winding from the foot of Coniston Water through Lowick with it‘s 14th century coaching inn, old Lakeland working bobbin villages, fertile fields and woodland until it reaches the shores of Morecambe bay.

Ideal for walkers, bikers and escapees this is rural Cumbria at it’s peak. Coniston Water 4 miles and Lake Windermere 6 miles are close enough for a quick dip (we’ll let you into the locals secrets and you’ll discover secret swimming coves in true Swallows and Amazon’s style), Grizedale Forest Enterprise Centre, 6miles offers unique off road trials for bikers and walkers through wood and stone sculptures scattered amongst the trees. We are ideally located close enough to the national park to enjoy its unparalled beauty and character but also within the Furness Peninsula which offers subtle diversions from the associated bustle of the more frequented Lakes hot spots. Our second visit - a very special place with a very special welcome. a pleasure to stay here and our dog loves it - a very good standard of cleanliness and excellent customer service. Accurate description - we love tyan as we have a lovely view also and balcony at home and this feels like a home from home.

Great base for walks and go for a drive and explore the surrounding area. We like the shops in Ulverston, the lovely drive to Coniston, Cartmel and Holker Hall to name a few places we have been. There are so many other places we have not visited - we will have to return!!!

This cottage is fantastic! The owner is so kind, and the rooms were great! A nice added touch was the welcome basket upon arrival...the scones were delicious!!

Stunning location, a real find.

This is a lovely property to which the photos simply cannot do justice. We have stayed in many good quality cottage rentals before but the decor, quality furnishings and attention to detail in this property were the best we have come across. The views are stunning and the location is exceptional you get the feeling of being totally away from it all. I did have reservations about booking a property which had another below it as we are used to detached properties however it is very private and although I had to try to keep the excited children from jumping about too much with their heavy footsteps out of courtesy to our neighbours below, it was worth it and we would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic property, fantastic location, fantastic welcome and attention from the owners - what more can I say?The barn exceeded the description and my expectations. I was a little worried that animals were allowed - I don't usually look twice at properties that allow pets, but this looked so nice and after a conversation with the owner decided to give it a go - and wouldn't know an animal had ever been in the property.
I would definitely recommend this property and for certain will return myself.
