The village lies at the foot of the Matra Mountains near to Parad and Paradfurdo with it's Spa hotel and Heavy Horse and Coach Museum. There are riding stables close by and the village boasts an excellent fishing lake where day tickets are available. There are excellent opportunities for walking and cycling, including mountain biking, with many scenic routes for ramblers and more adventurous walkers alike. Close to the castle of Sirok and just an hour from Eger, there is plenty to see and do historically. If you have an interest in geology there is an extinct volcano at Verpelet. There are a number of good local restaurants close by with either English language menus or English speaking staff. The area is well known for its skilled glass engravers and there are many excellent craftsmen who still work and sell their products locally. For the adventurous local spring water can be drunk at source and the ruins of a soviet era labour camp can be visited nearby
