Riposto is a small sea-village, equidistant from Taormina, Catania and Etna volcano. From Riposto it is possible to arrive in three different beach kind. In Torre Archirafi (800 meters from my house), you are going to find a beach with rocks and reefs; in Fondachello di Mascali (3 kilometerss from my house) a beach with pebbles, in Giardini Naxos-Taormina (3 kilometerss from my house) a beach with small sand. From Riposto you can visit the most important Sicily touristic places: Taormina, Etna, Catania, Castiglione di Sicilia, Siracusa, Agrigento..... So in your holiday you can visit noy only wonderful beaches, but also the most important touristic places. Your apartment will be in the ground floor of a cottage; I live in the top floor of the cottage and i can help you for everything you need. In Riposto you can taste the tipical food suchas ' GRANITA' (CRUSHED-ICE DRINK); you can visit the fish shop (in it you can buy a lot of fresch fish); restaurants........

Also......: Riposto have a strategic location pleased both Mountain and Sea amateurs and easily allows reaching the most enchanting places of the eastern Sicily. At 20 minutes from Catania and 15 minutes from Taormina places, at few miles from the magnificent view of Faraglioni di Acitrezza (Acitrezza 's Stacks), close to Etna Volcano and Alcantara gorges and a hour from archaeological site of Siracusa and from Caltagirone..

RIPOSTO: “IL PORTO DELL’ETNA” Situated within the old commercial harbour, the Tourist Harbour of the Etna is 6 miles from Taormina sea. It has got modern facilities available all the year. “OUR LADY OF THE SACRED LETTER’S SHRINE” It is known as the most ancient Riposto's Church. In 1979 a series of structural works brought to light the crypts situates below the Church; on examining them carefully, it was found that they are traces of presences dating back to Roman, Byzantine and Arabian days. “CHIESA DI SAN PIETRO” It is the largest church in Riposto but not the oldest, that is Our Lady of the Sacred Letter. It is situated in he main square of Riposto. The construction started on August 22nd 1808 and in 1865 the Basilica was completed. It was opened to religious services in 1818; later on the dome and the pulpit were added to the main building.

Good location for budget holiday

I am sorry about the long delay in writing this. We were there last October and enjoyed our holiday very much. I would recommend this apartment because it was ideally located as we didn't have a car and it is only a short walk from Giarre-Riposto railway station which is less than half an hour from Catania. The trains are quite cheap and frequent and there are so many interesting places to see in beautiful Sicily. The apartment is very near a good supermarket. It is an excellent base and clean and Marco was very helpful and nice. We did not have any problems at all
