Situated near Hermanus, the 'whale capital' of the world, Onrus is a coastal village with a popular beach for surfing and paddling in the lagoon. There are numerous pubs, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance and the area boasts wine routes and scenic routes and marine reserves only a few minutes drive away. The Fernkloof Nature Reserve is located close by where hiking amongst the many species of fynbos is a true wilderness experience. Penguins and dolphins are often seen frolicking in the surf and of course the whales and their young are a popular tourist attraction in the area.

Golfers paradise
The Hermanus Golf Course is less 10 minutes drive away and there are three more golf courses with 15 minutes driving time. This includes the world class 'Arabella Course' with its 5 star Sheraton Hotel and wellness centre. The Gary Player Erinvale Course is in Somerset West which is 45 mins drive.
Tourist Attractions
Hermaus is a world renowned tourist destination, with an abundance of activities and sight seeing opportunities. It is famous as the best land based whale watching area in the world. There are many wine routes within easy reach of Hermanus and wine tasting, and picnic lunches are offered at many of the estates. The apartment is situated in the heart of Onrus and there are numerous pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Hermanus, which is only 10 minutes drive away has market shops, beaches, a fishing harbour, pubs and dozens of restaurants. Cape Town is only 80 mins drive away and hosts the world famous V & A Waterfront, more wine routes and scenic towns and villages on the way. George and Knysna on the Garden Route is 3 to 4 hours away.
