La Calma apartments, Alameda del Mar are located 5km south of bustling Torrevieja on the Orihuela Costa. It is a 5 min walk to the nearest beach which is situjated between the blue flag La Zenia beach and Punta Prima beach. 2 minutes walk from the apartment are two large well stocked supermarkets, shops and several banks. Also within walking distance are a variety of bars and restaurants offering excellent cuisine and value for money. Torrevieja has a very large market in the centre which is on every Friday morning. Playa Flamenca also holds a market every Saturday morning which is within walking distance from the apartment. The Costa Blanca boasts 320 days of sunshine per year. If you want a holiday that is both relaxing and active then this is the place for you. The apartment is ideal for the eldery and the young as it is wheelchair/buggy accessible and the swimming pool is located approximately 5 feet from the terrace.

We had a lovely time at La Calma, most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. The apartment was lovely and spacious. The pool was 2 yds from our patio which with 4 young children worked out perfectly because we could relax and see them playing all the time. The restaurants and bars were only 5 minute walk away and there was plenty of choice. Downside if you like the beach then it isn't really for children and you have to cross a very busy road to get there. We would recommend this villa to our friends and family and certainly would consider returning.

We had a lovely time staying at this apartment in La Calma, the area was extremely friendly and relaxed and we managed to make many friends who hopefully we will meet again when we go back soon. The decking outside the apartment is a lovely place to enjoy breakfast in the sun, lunch or dinner in the evening and enjoy a few beers and glasses of wine. With the pool just two yards from the decking it was ideal for keeping an eye on the kids and perfect for taking an early morning swim and something that we enjoyed all day round. we had some great views of the sea and managed to get down to the beach a few times, but not as many as we would have hoped. Maybe next time! There were lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy close by, however we tended to have a bbq on the decking most nights whcih was very pleasent. Thanks again to Deirdre and Martin for their hospitality, all we need to do now is book more time off work and we'll be heading straight back!
