TRAVEL:
Easyjet, BA, Delta, Air France and endless other airlines fly into Nice airport. Cars can be hired online from the airport location; ADA, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National/Citer and Sixt. Because of the hillside location and the steep walk back from the shops, a car is recommended.
GETTING AROUND: Boat trips are available from the old Marina in Golfe Juan to Monaco and Saint Tropez, also across to the Islands (Ile de Lerins - reputedly where the man in the iron mask was imprisoned) where one can walk, swim and stop for lunch at one of the two restaurants on the larger island.
The train service is excellent, one stop to Cannes in one direction, one stop to Juan les Pins in the other direction. This is also one of the easiest methods to visit the Grand Prix or the Film Festival.
The train runs along the coast to Ventimiglia in Italy where one can enjoy the lively Friday morning market. Lunch beachside or stroll across the bridge into the old town.
LEISURE:
CULTURE: Galleries, museums, open air theatre, the list is endless. The villa is well stocked with information and the owners would be only too happy to give the benefit of their experience.
BEACH LIFE: the long sandy beaches are a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away, as are the bars and restaurants.
WATER SPORTS: paragliding, water skiing, canoeing, boat hire, the list goes on.
Stroll into Vallauris and see the amazing display of pottery for sale. Take an empty bottle and fill with wine from the Vin en Vrac!
Visit Antibes and stock up with fruit and veg from the bustling Provencal market. Walk the Ramparts and soak up the amazing views. Lunch in one of the many restaurants in the cobbled streets of the old town, and for the brave, visit the Absinthe Bar and experience the traditional Absinthe experience!
For a touch of glamour, shop in Cannes and star spot during the Film Festival. Dine in one of the many glitzy beach restaurants or simply stroll the Croisette.
REST AND RELAXATION:
If however, you just need to relax and get away from it all, then once your 'fridge is stocked you need go no further than the amazing terrace or pool. You will love this terrace!
