Vilamoura is a prestigious resort with 6 championship courses (the Victoria course hosted the World Cup in 2005), one of Europe’s largest marinas, a casino and two excellent beaches. The marina is surrounded by an extensive selection of shops, restaurants and bars. You can shop, eat, have a drink, walk around and take it all in or just people watch! You can book outdoor activities, day and boat trips from the information points along the marina or spend a lazy day on the beach. There is also a casino and a nightclub behind the marina for those that want to stay out that bit longer. The Falesia beach stretches west and you can walk for almost 7km towards Albufeira. Eastwards along the beach to the local village of Quarteira (2km) where you will find local fish, farmer and flea markets. Past Quateria follow the beach to Vale do Lobo and Quinta. Both beaches are served by excellent restaurants, shops, changing facilities and offer a variety of activities.
