Camp de Mar is a small resort which remains relatively undeveloped compared to other resorts in Mallorca. The beach at Camp de Mar features golden sand and sparklingly clear, emerald green waters, excellent for swimming and snorkelling. During the season from April through October, there are life guards on duty throughout the day. One of the key attractions is the cafe situated on a small island just offshore from the beach which is reachable via a wooden jetty. This is a fantastic location for watching the world go by and in summer you may be lucky enough to see dolphins in the bay. The centre of Camp de Mar is quiet and relaxed, with some nice shops, bars, and shoreline restaurants. Only 5km away is the pretty port of Andratx, which has many excellent restaurants and bars. The capital of Palma is 20 minutes drive and offers designer shopping and lots of sightseeing. It is very easy to get around as there is a frequent bus service as well as cheap taxis.

Generally we prefer to rent the villa on a Saturday to Saturday basis, especially during the summer holiday season. However we recognise that with the availability of low cost flights it can be significantly cheaper to fly on other days. Therefore please do contact us with your requirements and we will be as accommodating as possible, subject to other confirmed bookings.   • The bathroom adjoining the master bedroom has a long bath, great for relaxing in after a hard day on the beach, and a separate walk-in shower. The master bathroom also has his-and-hers basins with lots of shelf space. The other two bathrooms each have a walk-in enclosed shower cubicle. Each bathroom is beautifully tiled and luxuriously appointed.

  • The Master bedroom features a King-size double bed with views over the 16th green of the golf course and its own private terrace. The two other bedrooms can either be made up as twin single beds or as king-size doubles, depending upon your requirements. In addition, we also have a guest bed which can be used for larger groups. The house is very baby friendly - we have a baby's cot suitable for 0 to 18 months, together with a baby bath and changing mat. We also have stair gates fitted at the house and a high chair.

Notes:

The house is furnished to a very high standard: new beds, sofas, kitchen equipment, w/machine, dishwasher, TV (BBC and Sky), stereo with ipod connections, and garden furniture. All bedrooms have lots of wardrobe space. Each bathroom has a large walk-in shower, and the master bedroom also has a bath. The master bedroom and first twin bedroom are on the first floor. The second twin bedroom would be suitable for elderly, as it is downstairs with a bathroom next to it. There are large terraces surrounding the property on both the ground floor and first floor, with outdoor loungers & chairs. There is a 6-seat indoor dining table, plus a 6-seat outdoor table and another 4-seat outdoor breakfast table. The terraces are large enough for six people to eat/sunbathe/socialise in comfort and they are also securely fenced/walled off so younger children can play safely. Directly opposite the house is one of the three community swimming pools surrounded by a large sunbathing terrace.

Getting Around

Although we suggest you hire a car if you want to visit Majorca's many tourist attractions, it is also possible to use public transport and taxis during your stay. Taxis are cheap, reliable, often English-speaking, and charge fixed prices using the meter. For example, from the house to the airport costs approximately €40. A taxi to Puerto Andratx (Andratx port) costs around €8. There is a very reliable hourly bus service which runs along the coast between Palma and Andraitx and the bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the house. We also recommend a trip on the train service from Palma to Soller - great for sightseeing - dramatic views of the interior of the island and a chance to see rural Mallorcan life at its best! We are approximately 15 minutes away from Marineland, an aquarium with dolphins, seals, etc and two of the largest waterparks on the island. Palma is a short drive away and great for sightseeing and alfresco eating.

Children's Facilities

This house is great for children of all ages. The garden terraces are completely enclosed so there is no way for children to wander off by accident. There is a small community swimming pool opposite the house. This is ideal for younger children as it approximately 12m by 10m and max depth of 1.4 m. It has a large terrace area to the side. You can sit on the upstairs terrace at the house and have a good view of the pool area if you wanted to keep an eye on older children. There are lots of toys, games and DVDs at the house, as well as a baby cot, high chair, stair gates, etc. Traffic in the development is minimal. There is a good children's playground just a few minutes walk from the house. The sandy, clean beach features shelter umbrellas and loungers. The sea is warm, calm and shallow. There is great snorkelling for kids and adults alike. The beach has a life guard on duty throughout the summer. The area behind the beach features several small restaurants, which have children's menus

Other Activities spa, waterparks

Golf Information:

The Andratx Championship course surrounds the property and the house looks out onto the 16th green. This is one of the finest golf courses in Mallorca, with challenging holes and fantastic views back towards the sea. The clubhouse also has an excellent restuarant. There is an excellent spa facility for non-golfers to enjoy a variety of treatments. Within two minutes walk of the house, there is a driving range, practice putting range, and practice chipping/bunker area. Golf lessons can be arranged through the club professional. Guests can pay and play on the course. Although it is stated that handicap requirements are applicable, these are rarely enforced, especially for golfers with their own clubs and shoes. There are several other courses on the island, many within a short drive of the house and all of which are beautifully set in the local surroundings. Santa Ponsa also has a pay and play course - although you can also book ahead. This is flatter and more open than Andratx, but has some interesting holes. The courses at Bendinat are approximately 20 minutes drive and offer a mixture of challenging golf. Green fees are usually between €50-€70 per round and you often have to rent a buggy. During the week the courses are often not too busy - but remember in the summer months it can be extremely hot, so carry plenty of water and wear a hat!
