The house is just 5 mins walk from the beach, restaurants, bars and a summer night club but being in a cul de sac location is very quiet. The Barringtons Club with one heated indoor and one outdoor pool is 5 mins drive or 15 mins walk. They have a golf driving range, two restaurants, a fitness gym, sports bar with SKY Sports, WiFi and a range of pampering treatments plus a football pitch and coach for children up to 15 several times a week. Barringtons can book your golf tee times and have some excellent discounted deals. Top Algarve shopping centre at Guia is only 25 mins drive away with cinemas, bowling alley and masses of shops. Vale do Lobo has a supermarket, English newspapers, and English speaking doctor. 10 golf courses with 45% discounted green fees within a 15 min drive.

  • During peak summer months we ask for £75 per week for the electricity to power the air con. All breakages should be reported and paid for at a replacement cost. Otherwise we trust you. Due to the lowering of mobile call rates to and from Europe we no longer have a telephone. Both the Clubs of which you will be members have Wifi.

  • A genuine sleeps 6, 3-bed end terrace, spacious house. Two new divan single beds. Otherwise the 'owners suite' is on the ground floor and features a 'double' if you wish of 2 singles made up together with a separate bathroom behind a door that leads off the lounge. The decor of all bedrooms and wardrobes is traditional Algarvian. It is possible to rent a cot or small child's bed. The house is professionally managed locally. A welcome food pack is available for 15 Euros if you are likely to arrive after 19.30 when the local supermarket will be closed.

Notes: Although for older guests who don't wish to climb stairs there is no need to do so, the property, as it has some steps is not suitable for wheelchair users. We provide just about everything. Even a set of golf clubs! The rental covers Filomena, our wonderful maid, who comes in for 2 hours three days a week. She will clean, make up beds, tidy and even do your washing up if time allows. Our kitchen has all you would need and again has been recently refurbished. We have a library of books and games, a new flat screen TV with the SKY/BBC package and a new Hi Fi CD system with a stack of CDs. For the children we include a PlayStation 2 and a range of PS2 games. It is more like a second home, not a rental property.

Golf courses surround Vale do Lobo. : All the Algarve golf courses are within a one hour drive but 10 are within 15 minutes of the house. We can recommend a number of discounted tee time websites but Barringtons also offer an excellent service.

Age Restrictions: Due to problems encountered in the past we will not let the house to groups of people aged below 21 years.

Golf: 10 Courses within 20 minutes drive. The South Course at Quinta do Lago has been voted one of the best in Europe. Plenty of lower cost green fees available if you travel west out of the immediate area.

A good property overall albeit in need of some minor updating (Sky digibox, water heater, aircon remotes). Located just 5 mins from Praca and beach as stated. Great roof terrace. Villa membership of Barringtons Health Spa proved really useful - sea too rough for kids so most days spent by pool at Barringtons. Villa also had membership of tennis club but not used at all. Superb daily maid service. Basically if you want to go to Portugal and watch TV forget it but if you want a well-located villa with a good maid this is an excellent choice.
Vale de Lobo great for families with kids up to mid-teens.
Great meals and service at all the restaurants where we ate -can recommend Don Camillo's especially.
Owner's Response: Delighted that Zed had such a good stay. Of course in Portugal it is illegal for residents to own the full SKY package, unlike Spain. What we do have is the full SKY/BBC package which includes all the main terrestial channels plus loads of 'Freeview' type digital channels. You won't miss the soaps!

Not quite sure what he means by the 'air con' remotes? We DO have new air conditioning with a remote for every unit.

Our water heater is OK. In Portugal they do go out from time to time and need relighting.

Otherwise the whole house has been repainted inside and out for 08 and looks a picture.
