magnificent apartment in Rome

Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed a week at this magnificent apartment in Rome (from 23 June 2009), a real jewel in the historic centre, near Campo de' Fiori, Trastevere and Piazza Navona, on the second floor of an old building (from 1600). It looks out onto a small piazza, with a small supermarket and a restaurant. It is luxuriously renovated, with nice old features, old wooden beams in the ceiling, leaded glass doors in the shower and bedroom, and even a marble statue in the hall.
The landlord is kind and easy.
There is free internet connection, LCD flatscreen, airconditioning, etcetera. Spotlessly clean, with everything you could ask for and dream of. Very spacious, with enormous storage space in the wonderful built-in wardrobe. Huge four poster bed, with excellent quality mattress; high quality bathroom and kitchen (with design bidet and toilet, high quality dishwasher, fridge and freezer, even an electric waste grinder built into the kitchen sink). The kitchen is stocked with a nice supply of food (all the elementary things) which is really handy for short time lets. Lots of kitchen utensils: even a pasta machine, juicer, kitchen robot, at least 2 sets of dishware,...
To reach the flat easy, quick and cheap: take the train from Fiumicino to Trastevere (several per hour), then take tram 8 to Largo di Torre Argentina (endstop), cross the road (to bookshop Feltrinelli) and take bus 40, 62 or 64, ... to Chiesa Nuova. Then cross the traffic lights to the Via Cartari.
Our week stay was a real home from home. And all this for the price of a three star hotel. We lóved it and can certainly recommend it!
