Although there is plenty to entertain you on your door step, should you venture outside, the charm of the Cotswolds awaits. Below are listed a number of the nearby charming villages which will make for a wonderful day out: Cirencester is an historic Roman town in the heart of the Cotswolds with attractions from a Roman Amphitheatre to the nearby Chedworth Roman Villa. The Corinium Museum in an important source of information on the local history. Cirencester has many fine examples of historic mosaics, including one which can be found near the Brewery Arts Centre in the heart of Cirencester. Stow-on-the-Wold is a small, but well-known, market town of about 2000 people set in the Cotswold Hills. It stands beside the Roman Fosse Way at its junction with six other roads, where a settlement has existed since the Iron Age. Like many of the Cotswold towns and villages, the houses were built with the very distinctive mellow Cotswold stone from local quarries.

Please ask about pets. We ask that the property is treated respectfully, but sorry, no smoking indoors. Linen, towels and utilities included. Building works

Please note that there is some building work currently happening on the Lower Mill Estate. Disruption is kept to a minimum, does not take place over a weekend, is not on Clearwater Lake and does not affect the wonderful view from the house.

Golf Information:

The nearest golf course is at 'Cirencester Golf Club' on the Cheltenham Road which is just north of the town and approximately 8 miles from the Lower Mill Estate. Green fees are reasonable and visitors are welcome. Check out http://www.cirencestergolfclub.co.uk/ for more information.

We have just returned from a perfect weekend break at Cuckoo's Nest, with some friends and 3 2 year olds. We had an easy journey down the M4 from London and were met with an oasis of tranquility surrounded by water. The house was spotlessly clean and maintained with comfortable beds and high end furnishings throughout.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything to make your stay as easy as possible and so self catering does not feel like a chore.
The children loved the play areas and the indoor pool, and all the parents appreciated the spa facilities, particularly the massages!
There is a vast array of activities in and around the area to please adults and children alike - a weekend is nowhere near long enough to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds.
I also appreciated the child-friendly touches in the property, such as well stocked toy boxes for children of all ages and an array of DVDs suitable for all age groups. The living area is bright and airy with a secure balcony overlooking the water's edge, and as the living area is on the 1st floor you really get to appreciate the view.
The weekend was extremely relaxing and there was nothing to find fault in - having stayed in a range of 5 star hotels and villas around the world I can say without a doubt that this compares favourably and we will be back without hesitation.
