A good base to explore ...:
The apartment is in a gated community, with a short walk to the nearest bars and shops with supermarkets, internet cafe etc. It is close to La Cala de Mijas, which is a lovely traditional fishing village that has retained much of its culture. It is lively, vibrant and a great base for a holiday at all times of the year. There is a great selection of bars, shops and both Spanish and international restaurants, plus a good twice weekly market. Fuengirola is also a short ride away - around 5 kilometres and has some good bars, shops and beaches.
Buses and taxis are close-by and the services are very good and reasonably priced. It is less than half an hour to Malaga, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Mijas Pueblo (the famous white village). Granada, Alhambra, Seville, Ronda, the lakes at El Churro and many others are easy day trips either on a locally organised tour or by your own car.
... or to just relax by the pool:
The gardens in our community are exceptional. There are two large infinity pools, with lifeguards during the main summer holidays. There is also a jacuzzi for use of guests. The gardens are very well kept and extremely large. Alternatively it is a short walk to the nearest beach - or you may prefer one of the many others between Malaga and Marbella which are all well kept and offer a good selection of beach bars (chiringuitos) with good food and drink at reasonable prices.
The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf because of its many courses. There are plenty within a very short drive whether you are a seasoned golfer looking for a championship level course or fairly inexperienced and just looking for a leisurely round at your own pace. The courses here are very good, well looked after and there are some good golf academies locally - La Cala Golf, Miraflores etc offering lessons. You may prefer tennis at one of the many local clubs or many of the water sports etc.

We have a guest book in the apartment and have some very positive comments. We also have regulars that come every year and some are on their fourth and fifth visits. Some of their comments 'Thank you for yet another wonderful stay. Waking up to the amazing sea views if simply fantastic. The apartment is lovely and the gardens and swimming pools are a joy'. We really enjoyed our visit - yet again. This feels like a true home from home. I'd be happy not to move from the terrace for two weeks, the sea views are breathtaking. 'You'll see us next year as usual'.
