A beautiful colonial villa with 3 spacious self-catering flats, 1 on each floor. No car necessary, very near the old quarter, restaurants, sea and downtown Funchal. The market is a 5 minute walk away. The garden and pool is shared by the three flats, located on a quiet and peaceful residential area of Funchal with stunning sea views & harbor views. A perfect base to relax, enjoy the great climate down by the sea where it is warm most of the year. Large swimming pool (not heated) unsuitable for small children as there is no shallow end and no protection. Deck chairs, outside dining space, barbecue and sub-tropical garden. This house was completely restored in January 2008 it still has all the original wooden floors, metal plated ceilings & lots of other stunning period features (this means that some noise can filter down from flat to flat). Each flat is between 80-100 square meters. A casual and friendly place, the subtropical climate can bring some insects but this is normal in Funchal

No stairs as the entrance is level to the street. Sleeps 4, the main bedroom has 2 twin beds, the other smaller bedroom has a bunk bed for 2 people, ideally children (bathroom is accessed via this room). Very high stuccoed ceilings, original wooden floors and lots of light. The living room has French windows accessing the large balcony, fully equipped kitchenette and dining room including stove, fridge and microwave also with French windows looking onto the balcony and sea view. Bathroom with bath, swimming pool with deck chairs and large table. Shared with other 2 flats. Barbecue area, Funchal city center (historic old quarter) and sea within walking distance (5min). Palheiro golf course within 10min car ride Services included: Linen and towels; Normal consumption of water and electricity No car necessary

The villa is the ideal base to explore the beautiful island of Madeira, its strategic location in the heart of Funchal means it is just by the seaside were you can swim, water ski, scuba dive, sail and much more. The 2 golf courses are very near, Palheiro Golf is just 10min away and Santo da Serra Golf is just 20min away. Madeira is a walkers paradise and from here you can reach the mountains and discover the levada trails. A bus stop is nearby, and the main road to the airport is very easy to catch. Local café and corner shop is a couple of meters down the road.
