The studio is on the very edge of a traditional French village and is a completely independent with its south-facing terrace to breakfast and dine on whilst listening to the cicadas.

Notes to the rental rates

  • Booking is very easy. We speak English or French. We would like a 25% deposit to confirm the booking. One month before your arrival we will contact you requesting the outstanding balance and a security deposit of 600-00 euros. You can arrange a bank transfer; send us a cheque or even cash. We accept Sterling, dollars and euros. For the low season, February to May and September onwards, we charge for electricity by a meter reading.
    Travel insurance is almost a must to cover any loss of deposit or other foreseen problems. Contact us for details regarding this.
  • Arrival is to be after 2-00 pm on the Saturday date that you have chosen. It is important to telephone the William an hour before your arrival to arrange for the keys handover and a tour of the property.

Notes:

The gardens are a mature mixture of 40 olive trees, shrubs, bamboo, local trees and a lawn. There are ample loungers, garden chairs and a table for al fresco dinning. The terrace has a full sized table and chairs to accommodate that late evening meal and a glass of wine in the sunset. The traditional French game of boules can be enjoyed on the gravel drive, a full double set is supplied for your personal use. There is an easy to use bar-be-que complete with all tools and equipment; just bring the charcoal or search for vines in the vineyard to cook by.

Things to do

Visit the local markets; the famous Uzes Saturday market is only 25 minutes away or the Sunday market at Lunel to watch the locals buying chickens, ducks and pigs and choose your own locally produced fabrics and leatherwork.The local restaurants cater for all possible tastes; from the nearby relais patronised by the locals to the traditional French cooking or nouvelle cuisine to suit all tastes and pockets. Enjoy the sunshine and blue skies in spring, summer and winter in the magnificent Cevennes; find skiing in winter and the glories of nature with walking, climbing, caving, and fishing, riding, canoeing or simply looking at the local wild life for the rest of the year.For the shopper there is the modern bustling town of Montpellier with its up-to the-minute shopping facilities or the dreamy Romantic town of Nimes with its historic arena and its inner city maze of streets full of ancient and modern shops. Or just relax and lay in the sun

Living here

The nearest large town in is Nimes, 20 minutes away with its wall to wall history and old city full of small odd shops that need to be explored.. Ales is a large modern French town with the nearest large international supermarket, Cora, only 20 minutes away from the front door. Quissac is the nearest town, 4 kilometres away by road or 45 minutes amble across the vineyards. Here is to be found the local bar, doctor, post office, bank and open all hours shop.One of the best beaches in France is to be found at Le Pointe de l’Espiguette, 20 kilometres of sand and sea catering for all types for seaside activity. Its just 45 minutes away and an easy drive. La Grande Motte is where the French go to lay on the beach and just along from there is the world famous Carnon Plage. The Romans used to sunbathe at Palavas. OR why not try something different and go to one of the local very safe river beaches that are a few kilometres away, Le Gardon or Le Herault, you can catch a fish there sometimes.

Things to do

Want to learn to paint a picture, ride a horse, climb a mountain by foot or bike and then hang glide off the edge, scuba dive, tease a trout or catch a mackerel, Provencal and Arabic cookery courses. All these are available; details on application. The area is famous for its first class golf courses to suit all levels of ability; it is possible to hire all equipment needed and take day membership of all of these clubs. Most of these courses are with-in an hour’s drive of Agrirement. Unless there is an international competition these clubs are nearly always free to visitors except for the minimal day rate fees.
