The Homestead dates back to the 16C and is located close to Sherwood Forest in the heart of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham's countryside. The house has been recently refurbished and is adjacent to our own home. We endeavour to offer you a comfortable and relaxing holiday in the Nottinghamshire countryside the surrounding land is part of our working equestrian yard and offers facilities such as the chance to collect your own eggs(seasonal). There are numerous opportunities for walking, cycling, riding and a multitude of other attractions. Swimming pools and tennis courts can be found in nearby Edwinstowe or Ollerton. The Homestead is centrally located midway between Sheffield, Nottingham and Lincoln and only 1½ hours from London by train giving unique access to the traditional Sheffield Steel visitor experiences; the Nottingham lace industry; and historic Roman Lincoln with its outstanding 11 century cathedral. Sleeps 8 in comfort but will accommodate up to 12.

Excellent base for family holiday; house and gardens are beautiful and kept to a high standard. Place is very spacious, enough for 3 families and there's alot to see around and about. Just a great place to chill out with family and friends and spend some time away from the city. Owners are very welcoming.

Stayed at this cottage for a weekend and had no complaints at all. Cottage was extremely clean and comfortable, very well equipped and big enough for 4 families to stay together. Garden was great for the kids, loved the chickens, owners were friendly and helpful, we'll definitely be going back!

a really nice place to stay at christmas loverly open fire  we were looked after well for any of our needs ie.logs ect. the only let down in our opinion was the front living room suit we found it rather uncmfortable. realy nice pub food about a mile away.

Excellent Family Holiday Location!

We stayed at the Homestead for a period of 10 days for the purpose of introducing our 1 year old triplets to my husbands family in the Nottingham area (we are based in the US). It could not have been a better location. The back garden is beautiful and the stables, 2 horses, and chickens add to the charm. The owners were helpful and very accomodating to our family and the needs of our children. They really went above and beyond. The updated bathrooms and kitchen were so nice!
We will keep this home in mind for any future trips back to the UK.
