Bacchus Field is a magnificent plantation villa set in 4 sprawling acres of tropical gardens in the highlands of Nevis's Zetland Plantation, overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Upon passing through the estate gates, one enters a world of lush gardens set on the grounds of an historic sugar cane plantation. The villa comprises more than 7 buildings sequestered in a beautiful landscape surrounding a large swimming pool.
In Bacchus Field's Great House, the spacious living room opens via louvered French doors onto a broad wraparound patio overlooking the Caribbean. This is a favorite place to view the glorious Caribbean sunsets. The living room & library feature artwork, objets d'art, oriental rugs & comfortable furnishings. An exquisite West Indian-style plantation dining room in an adjacent building has large table seating 10-12, with antique chandelier, mahogany pieces & framed artwork all providing the perfect setting for enjoying a delightful meal. The modern kitchen at Bacchus Field is totally equipped to prepare meals for a large party.
Bedrooms at Bacchus Field are in their own cottages, with porches & verandahs offering privacy to guests. The master bedroom is in the Great House, and features a 4-poster Queen bed and a verandah with views of the sparking Caribbean. A large bedroom with 3 twin beds is located in Horatio House, again, with louvred doors opening onto the patio. The 3rd & 4th bedrooms are in Pirate House, which also features a gingerbread trimmed verandah.
Bacchus Field takes advantage of its high elevation to provide cooling breezes & delightful tropical views of the Caribbean Sea. From the villa, it's an easy 15-minute drive to Pinney's Beach and golf at the Four Seasons, 20-minute drive to Nisbet Beach, and, for surfers, approximately 7 minutes by car to Windward Beach. Numerous historic plantation inns & restaurants, renowned for gourmet fare and enchanting settings, are a 5-minute drive from Bacchus Field. Nevis's historic capital of Charlestown, with ferry service to nearby St Kitts, is 10 minutes from the villa.
