Visit our bright, spacious first floor self catering apartment overlooking landscaped gardens with swimming pool just a few minutes' stroll from the bustling medieval Provencal market town of Lorgues, set deep in the Var countryside. A 35 minute drive will access the famous coastal road from St Tropez to Menton connecting all the glitzy resorts of the Cote D'Azur. Alternatively, meander through picturesque villages, vineyards and perfumed pine forests en route to the peaceful scenic Lac de St Croix and the vertiginous Gorges du Verdon. Returning to your own comfortable haven in Lorgues, cool off in the pool before a refreshing aperitif taken on the balcony before a romantic dinner at home or a visit to one of the many local restaurants. The apartment comprises a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen + two large bedrooms each with its own full bathroom. Two glazed double doors lead from the capacious lounge/diner onto a sunny balcony. There is ample parking in the gated grounds.

The Var region of France offers one of the greatest choices for holiday enjoyment imaginable. On the Cote D'Azur lies St Tropez, renowned not only for its beaches and playboy image but for its colourful market and unique classic yacht events. Just along the magnificent coastline to the east are other popular resorts such as St Maxime, Frejus and St Raphael. To the west is Hyeres overlooking the golden isles of Porquerolles & Port Cros. But in the Var the coastline is only the beginning. Just in from the coast away from the all year round bustle there are wonderful Provencal hill villages that have remained unchanged through the centuries set amongst forests of cork, oak and parasol pines, lavender fields and vineyards. Further inland you enter La Provence Vert - cooler in winter, sometimes hotter in summer but always quiet & relaxing with wonderful driving on roads free of traffic. Visit the Gorges du Verdon, the beautiful Lac St Croix, Moustier St Marie, Tourtour, Aups & Villecroze.

  • There is a cleaning charge of 50 euros which includes laundry. Please leave this in the apartment when you leave.
  • All prices include bed linen, towels and pool towels. A deposit of £200 is required on booking and the balance 6 weeks before departure together with a separate cheque for £150 against any accidental damage which will be returned/destroyed after the apartment has been checked.
  • The apartment is very well equipped with kitchen utensils, microwave, dishwasher powder, washing powder, cleaning products, 2 x hair dryers, iron/ironing board, DVDs, CDs, books, games, maps, travel books, patio furniture, sun beds etc.

Notes: The apartment is extremely suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, the elderly or infirm, having a lift and being all on one level. Although we do not encourage guests with very young children, those families with older children who have stayed at Azur Sud have reported a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Excellent apartment in lovely Lorgues

This new apartment is very spacious, comfortable and contains all the facilities you would ever need. We enjoyed some lovely meals on the balcony overlooking the landscaped gardens and the pool was great - our one year old had a fantastic time jumping in and out! The location is perfect for exploring the area (although a car is really essential) and the centre of Lorgues is just a few minutes stroll away (the new patisserie a minute up the road is superb). The nearby village of Flayosc is very pretty and the Lac de St Croix a hour to the north is definitely worth a visit.

The property is very clean and, being new, is in mint condition. The owners provided lots of useful information and were very helpful and easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend the apartment to a friend and it worked well with our little one.

5 Weeks In Provence

Lorgues is a small quiet town some 30 minutes inland from St Tropez and the scenic Corniche towards Nice and Monaco. Within the hour are the amazing drives along the Verdon gorge with breathtaking views.
The apartment is less than a 5 minute walk into the centre of Lorgues, is well furnished and the owner has managed to achieve a very effective blend between a holiday home and a home from home – there are many personal touches which add to the effect. The balcony is south facing – with as much sun as one can take and the pool is well sized and looks inviting (although during our visit in February/March we did not test it out!). Importantly, the furnishings are very comfortable (especially the beds – which from experience in France tend to be ‘interesting’!).
All in all, a very good apartment in a delightful part of the Var and one which we can thoroughly recommend.

The Apartment and complex was very well described, we found it clean, well maintained with every comfort catered for,
The bedrooms well designed and decorated to a high standard, modern with relaxing colours and very spacious with large wardrobes plenty of clothes hangers, large set of draws and bedside cabinets, plenty of mirrors.
Bathrooms were both large and clean with lovely lighting.
The living room was well decorated to a high standard, my husband would like the swivel chair for our home, he found it very relaxing and the leather sofas were also comfy, we will miss the veiw of the garden and pool from the sunny balcony with the scent of lavender and rosemary coming from the garden, The kitchen was modern and easy to use, the dishwasher was an added bonus.
The apartment is one of the best we have stayed at and we would recommed it to anyone going to the Var region.
Angela was extremly friendly and helpfull sending us very good information about the area which we used daily. They also have a good web site.
Highlights,
A visit to Saite Croix du Verdon 1hour to the north by car is worth at least one vist, swim in the clear blue water with views all around or hire boats, kayaks, or pedalo's, take a picnic or eat at the snack bar or cafe's up in Sante Croix. The Grand Cayon Du Verdon is spectacular not for those with a fear of hights leave plenty of time for stopping and taking in the veiws.The market on Tuesday in Lourges is not to be missed set off around 9 a.m. to avoid the crowds buy freshly cooked roast chicken, sample cheeses, meats, buy friut, veg, olives, breads, clothes, jewerlry, bags, plus many many more, we visited Les Arcs with its medieval quarter, find the building with the model of the town as it was in medieval times, Tourtour with fossil museam and spectacular veiws,
We went Kayaking from a center on the road to Carces just after the sign for Abb du Thoronet, about 10 to 15 min. away, we would recommend the route from the center down river for beginers the route from Carces to the center for the more experenced. The coast is about 45 mins away to Ste Maxime with beach, up in the town in the evening we found more market stalls. For Eating in Lorgues EL Barrio's good value tapas, puddings and icecreams also does chips and Les Parments for a good meal, Lorgues is a good base to see the area.
