Latina Province holiday apartment: Terracina

Our stay in Terracina was relaxing and fun. It wasn't the first time we was in Terracina, but if it is for you a stay in the apartment is the right thing. So near the sea, you have all shops and restaurants just some blocks away and you are very near the bus station if you want to go somewhere. However you can have a car and park nearby the apartment. At the same time as you are in the centre of this charming town the apartment and the neighbourhood is very calm and quiet or at least very quiet by Italian standards.

The apartment is excellent, very spacious and you have all the facilities that you would need. When we arrived we felt very welcome by the owner and the apartment was very clean. As it is in a great position near both the beach and the town you can start your vacation directly after dropping your bags in the apartment, no problems finding anything. If you want any help or information the owner is very kind and helpful.

We rented the apartment for two weeks in June and it was a great time beeing in Terracina as it wasn't very crowded on the beach and in town and the weather wasn't too hot.The warm nights is however not a problem as the apartment is equipped with a very good AC.

It you want to go sight seeing Terracina ís very happily situated as you can go south to see Pompei, Sorrento and Amalfi or perhaps Capri. And north you have Rome just an hour and a half away. We went also to Ponza which is a wonderful island resembling Capri but more quiet and not as expensive.

The best restaurant we visited locally was il Vicoletto if you like fish you will have to travel far to find a better restaurant. If you like Italian pizza you have to go to La Focaccia which situated on the main street, very close to the apartment, Best Ice cream bar is even closer the apartment and also on main street, Viale della Vittoria.

When you want to buy groceries you should go the small local shops nearby, The quality is excellent and the staff so friendly.

We really recommend this apartment and we will most certainly come back.

We had a very good time in Italy, it is not the first time we have visited and we hope to return again in the not too distant future as it is a beautiful country.

The apartment is very good with lots of space and all the facilities that we needed, it is in a great position for easy access to the lovely beach and the town.

April was a great time to visit as it was warm and bright, but the beach itself only ever had a few people on it.

We saw quite a lot of the area in the week we were there, the temple ruins are worth a visit and we went back one evening to watch the sun go down over the sea.

We managed to get as far as Sorrento & Amalfi, the drive around the Bay of Naples, through Sorrento and on to Amalfi has stunning views, although the journey itself is quite frightening through the twisty narrow roads.

Pompeii and Herculaneum were interesting, at Pompeii we had a local tourist guide that showed the four of us round, this really made the visit worthwhile and was worth the 30 Euro.

We also managed to get into Rome to see the Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, driving as far as Laurentina and catching the Metro into and around Rome.

The best restaurant we visited locally was La Foccacia, very close to the apartment, where the food was good and the staff very friendly.

Although you can get most things in the small local shops, we found two bigger supermarkets that had a good range, Sidis which is mid size and Co-op which is very big.
