This brand new four bedroom self-catering property has its own private pool and garden. It is located within walking distance of the village amenities, as well as a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach. The house is on two levels. The ground floor comprises of a large lounge and dining area which opens onto a terrace with outdoor dining facilities and access to the pool, a fitted kitchen and a bedroom, which also opens on to the terrace, with en suite shower room. The second floor comprises of two twin bedrooms, a family bathroom and a master bedroom with en suite shower room. Each bedroom benefits from a balcony or terrace with uninterrupted views of the sea and salt water lakes. This location is perfect for combining a beach/pool/sun holiday with immersion in local culture and tradition as well as tourism. Fitou is alive in the summer offering musical and culinary events. It boasts three great restaurants, two bars and a beautiful medieval castle all within walking distance.

Fitou village is located on the Mediterranean coast, next to stunning sand beaches. It is also a typical wine village with several “caves” where you can taste wine. The village is only half an hour from the towns of Narbonne and Perpignan which are great for shopping and “café culture”. A bit further a field Carcassone and its fairytale fortress can be the start of a tour of the stunning Cathars castles in Peyrepertuse and Queribus amongst others. If you like touring Spain is only 40 minutes away and you can get to the mountains in an hour and a half.

The security provided for the swimming pool is in accordance with the latest French law, though as always where young children are concerned adult supervision in and around the pool is essential. We will be happy to provide a welcome pack of local wine and basic food items upon your arrival, for a small additional fee.

Villa 'La Mer' Available from June 2008: Villa 'La Mer' is currently under construction and will be completed and ready to receive it's first guests on Saturday 31st May 2008.

Our Aim: Our aim is to provide you with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing and fun holiday. To that end we will be delighted to help with information on the area, as well as recommending and booking restaurants and activities in advance.

Do you work from home (teleworking)?: Do you work from home? With the Languedoc basking in 300 days of clear skies and sunshine per year, if you’re someone who works from home, an off season let which allows you to work and escape the grey skies of the North could be a great tonic. If a broadband internet connection would be of use to you, just let us know and we can organise that for you, along with most of the basic office items, such as a desk, printer and scanner. And with a number of airports in close proximity, served by “low cost” airlines, the odd meeting back home poses little problem.

Other Activities: Kite surfing, sand yachting, wine tasting, climbing, safari park, water park, tree top adventure park.

A Month In Fitou

The villa was everything that was advertised, spacious and light, extremely comfortable with English TV so you don't have to miss your favourite programs, 4 good sized bedrooms 2 with en-suite and a family bathroom. All bedrooms open onto its own terrace, all superbly furnished. What I wasn't expecting was the stunning views of the lakes and the Med from the terrace and the snow capped Pyrenees in the distance. Every activity imaginable is within a short driving distance, from windsurfing to white water rafting, exploring castles and museums and the ancient streets of Narbonne and Perpignan. The beaches of beautiful cream sand are within easy reach with plenty of places to eat if you get hungry after soaking up the sun all day. Spain is less than an hour away and well worth a shopping trip. What can I say about the mountains? Spectacular views of them, and then the trips to explore them with surprises around every bend of deep valleys with tiny villages nestling in splendid isolation. We spent a month on holiday I wish it had been six. Glen and Geraldine were brilliant, helpful in every way without being intrusive. All in all we can't wait to go back.

Wonderful vacation in lovely villa

A perfect location to spend your holidays! The sea is near, the winemakers are near, the mountains are near, the pitoresque village is near - this region has it all!!

We can highly recommend this villa! The owners are easygoing and easy to get in touch with. The villa has a splendid view to enjoy while eating, lounging or sunbathing! The pool was the perfect size for our children and for grown ups to cool down (hot summer)! Nice rooms and a well equiped house! A 5-10 minute walk to a the village bakery and there are good wine producers located in the village.

We already want to go back!

Spacious,modern, well appointed villa.New this year, so looked unused and very clean. Lovely position,very quiet,stunning views. Totally lived up to its description. Met by owner on arrival.
Excellent beach @ Leucate plage, excellent restaurants both in Fitou and Leucate village. Particularly ''Le Jardin des Filoche'' if you like fine dining. Excellent oysters @ Leucate Port.
