Stunning appartment in an elegant location.

We spent seven wonderful days here over christmas and can honestly say when we return to Nice we wouldn't think of staying everywhere else.
The appartment is in a wonderful area of Nice located a couple of blocks back from the promenade and close to the faded opulence of the Negresco hotel.
10 minutes on the bus from the airport, we chose instead to grab a cab to avoid any start of holiday stress! To be honest, in hindsight, we should have just got on the 4euro bus, the appartment is 5 minutes walk from the nearest stop. The cab cost 30 euros but took us straight to the door.
We were met at the entrance to the appartments by Davina, the flats owner. We'd enjoyed an excellent line of communication from the first tentative enquiries a few months previously. We were given her mobile number to keep her informed of any changes to arrival time and sent a quick text on our touchdown and recieved a prompt 'welcome to Nice' by way of response!
Being met by Davina and being shown around the appartment, with a few brief instructions on the basic workings and a talk through the keys etc, was a real help.
And what an appartment! If you are impressed by the photos on the site then let me tell you, they don't start to do the place justice!
The word boutique is often a byword for small and expensive. This place, however, is boutique in a way which really does justice to the concept. Spacious, elegant, and romantic the attention to detail was fantastic. Chandeliers adorn most rooms (a design fetish of the owner!), the kitchen is well sized and ever so posh (smeg fridge and cooker) , lovely bathroom and gorgeous double bedroom and a back room ,with views to a garden in which we could imagine enjoying a cold glass of chablis at the end of a long summers evening.
The surrounding area is great, somewhere we hadn't really explored in previous visits. There's loads of places to eat nearby and a supermarket 2 minutes away. A covered market even closer has cheese stalls, fresh pasta and a greengrocer with a nice line in wild mushrooms. There's also some nice places to grab a croissant or two just around the corner.
At night it was ever so quiet, a few buses pass by but we loved to sit in the front room with the shutters open watching the world pass by the window.
Just a ten minute walk will see you down towards the old town and all that Nice has to offer.
All in all a perfect holiday in the perfect location. We can't wait to return.
