Notes to the rental rates

• A 20% deposit is required to secure the booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before arrival together with a £200 deposit in case of unreasonable damage; this will be returned 7 days after departure. We wish you to enjoy your holiday and the use of our villa. However, the owners reserve the right to charge for excessive use of electricity for air conditioning units. A cot is available if required; please ask at the time of booking.

Casa Nalina

The owners have used this villa for the past 8 years as their permanent home. It has been built to exacting standards and as a result is surprisingly cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The owners still live locally so if there are any questions or queries then they are available. All the windows and patio doors are fitted with fly screens and have tinted glass for privacy and to reduce the heat from the sun's rays. The lounge is light and airy with three large patio doors to allow you to gain access to the patio area and the swimming pool. Whether you want to sit and watch the golfers or simply lie by the pool and soak up the sunshine you will be re-assured of rest and tranquility.

Local Activities and Interest

Historic Portimão and Silves, where there is the Cork Museum, are within a 10 minute drive. The Monchique mountains (just 902m high) where you can enjoy Javali (wild boar), Leitão (Suckling pig) or the renowned Frango piri-piri ('spicy' chicken) is a short 25 minute drive. You can visit the spa town of Caldas de Monchique on the way to Monchique. Take a Jeep Safari and see the local wild life and how the local people live in simple, yet happy conditions. In February there is the famous Carnival. In summer there are many local fairs. Closer to the villa there is the Water Park, Zoo Marine, a children's Play Oasis, an animal park and zoo (at Algoz & Lagos), four marinas and many other attractions. Further afield you can visit the West Coast and recall the days of Henry the Navigator, Vasco da Gama and Magellan. Go bird watching at Rio Formosa, Salgados or Alvor. Or, catch the InterCity train from Tunes (20 minutes drive away) and visit Lisboa (just €43 return for a first class ticket).

Golf Information:

In addition to the two Championship Golf Courses within the Pestana Resort there is also Silves Golf Course within 15 minute drive owned by the same Company. Within 30 minutes there are several other Championship Golf Courses including Penina, Palmares, Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago and São Laurenco. You may know that the Algarve is probably the top destination in the world for golf.
