Lovingly restored and interior-designed to create a contemporary boutique-style home-from-home comprising: 4 double bedrooms, 4 bathrooms [3 ensuite], 2 kitchens, dining room, living room with DVD and PlayStation. Surrounded by vineyards, the exterior boasts a large shaded terrace with BBQ, swimming pool with hardwood decking, garden with swings and trampoline. Situated on the edge of a 16th century working village, within walking distance of a small supermarket, cave cooperative, baker, butcher, patisserie, deli, bars, Cathar church, visiting market and a small cinema. The Canal du Midi is 5 minutes away, and the beaches of Narbonne, Valras and Gruissan can be reached in 25 picturesque minutes. Venture inland and natural parks and the Pyrenees beckon; hunt for antiques in Pezanas; swim or kayak in the crystal clear river Cesse at Mirepeisset.

Away from the over-priced madness of the Cote d'Azur, the Narbonne area of the Languedoc region is the most unspoilt part of France's Mediterranean coastline. Here, it's about the wine, the weather and joie de vivre. Big spaces, big skies and vines as far as the eye can see. Narbonne was an ancient Roman port and the 11th century cathedral towers over the remains of a Roman road. Smart shops and a bustling indoor market border the Canal du Midi as it runs through the centre before ending its journey in the thriving fishing port of Sete. Follow the canal inland to the medieval town of Carcassone and drive through sleepy villages steeped in Cathar history. This is also mountaineering and cycling country, being on the foothills of the Pyrenees. Bag a bargain in the brocantes in Pezanas, browse the Galleries Lafayette in Beziers, drink in the coffee culture in Roquebrun or catch the sunset at the eerily beautiful Etang de Bages. Do little.   • Prices are for 7 nights starting on Saturday (4pm) and finishing the following Saturday (10am). Inclusive of electricity, cleaning on arrival, linen, bathrobes and towels (including pool towels). Mid-stay cleaning is available on request. A bike is available for guest use at no extra charge.
  • A deposit of 25% of the rental is required when booking. The balance of the rental is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. In the event of cancellation of a booking within 8 weeks of arrival, the full cost of the reserved accommodation will be charged and will be refunded only in the event that all cancelled accommodation is re-let.

Two families with 5 children in August/September

_wonderfull place to relax with the family - the kids were either in the pool or jumping on the trampolin
_perfect for 2 families/ parties because of the detached sleeping quarters with private bathrooms
_large living room with upstairs (with plenty of games and tv and dvd) gives freedom to the parents while drinking wine on the large table downstairs or on the roofed terrace
_the 2 kitchen were well equiped for prepairing and cooking all kind of food and the weber grill on the terrace was used quite often
_the house is perfectly situated in the langedouc vineyards and surrounded by plenty of caves and chateau´s for "degustation et vente"
_the nice beaches of Gruissan and Narbonne are only a 25 minute trip away and offer a lot of fun for the kids and parents and were even not crowded at all during our stay
_plenty of nice and charming places to visit around Ouveillan within short car drive distance like Minerve, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Bezier, Pezenas etc. It is possible to spend the morning in the mountains and the afternoon on the beach
_also the investigation of the "secret service", spearheaded by james was very succesful - our little daughter´s fluffy yellow duck was lost in the house and couldn´t get found befor we left. after the final "inspection" by james and his statement that the house was left in an impeccable state, he found the cuddle buddy and will now be shipped to us from england!
_all in all perfect holidays for two families and their children at a charming house in a wonderful area!

Happy holidaying in the beautiful Languedoc...

We found this gem last-minute and could not have asked for a more helpful owner or a more beautiful property. We were 5 adults and a toddler and there was something for us all.
The location is wonderfully rural, in the heart of the vineyards, only a short walk away from the must-visit tasting room of the local 'Cave Cooperative'. The pool and trampoline kept our little one happy and the rest of us spent a fantastic 10 days relaxing and taking advantage of the two exceptionally well-equipped kitchens to cook up some of the delicious local food, washed down with lots of the surprisingly good inexpensive wine from the nearby 'Cave'.
The house is a wonderful combination of traditional French antiques and modern style, with some rooms looking more like a magazine shoot than the normal decor of holiday properties. It really did feel like a home from home and provided some inspiration for changes to our own home! We were very grateful to find a 'Welcome pack' of goodies upon arrival and from the nice plentiful towels/good quality bed linens, to the well-stocked kitchens there was really nothing more we could have wished to find.
There are many beautiful, typically French, unspoilt villages/towns all within easy reach as well as the bigger, more touristy, but impressive places such as Carcasonne. From the local bar in Ouveillan to the waterside restaurants along the Canal du Midi in Capestang there are plenty of local venues to soak up the atmosphere and immerse yourself in the real Languedoc.

Happy Days in the South of France!

After many hours surfing the Net looking for the ideal summer getaway for my wife and I and 2 teenage children we found this property which looked to good to be true! but on Arrival we found that it was even better than we had hoped! from the warm welcome from the owner to the wine already chilling in the fridge, we knew we were in for a good week.
The house and pool were fantastic which made it hard to drag ourselves away to explore, however once mobile we found some lovely places to visit from Narbonne to Pezanas to Carcassonne.
In all a great week away.

A real family holiday!

We wanted a real family holiday in a lovely relaxing location and setting and this is what we got!

The party consisted of myself and husband, our son , his fiance and 6 week old Max. Our 19 year old son just back from lads holiday in Zante and our 12 year old neice from Australia.

The villa is so well equiped that we didn't have to "make do" with anything - 2 kitchens, several bathrooms and a design that allows you to be together or have your own space.

Just what we all needed for all different reasons.

A word about James our host - very helpful and communicative thorugh the booking and arrival process and even went out of his way while we were there to help!

A real gem amonst the vineyards

Myself and three friends spent a wonderful week at Ouveillan, the house was better than we imagined. We walked amongst the vines every evening then sat out and sipped our rose. In my opinion this is the real France. The owners of the house couldn't have been more helpful.
