Summer time in Les Contamines-Monjoie:
In summer, Les Contamines-Montjoie is a meadow of flowers, quietly protected by a pine forests and overlooked by the summits of the enormous Mont Blanc .
There is a wide range of activities : Le Pontet Leisure Park (P:+ 33 4 50 47 05 89) stands in a magnificent setting around a mountain lake and a bathing lake: rowing boats, walks, cable cars, camping and caravanning, an overnight stop for hikers, horse riding centre, football pitch, archery, mini-golf, golf practice, basketball, volleyball, etc.
Summer activities:
An alternative to crowed beaches: 4 lakes. The bathing lake is part of the Pontet Leisure Park. It is a haven of peace with family activities in a 30-hectare park at the end of the valley. A typical mountain environment containing a full range of leisure facilities: tennis, golf, archery, horse riding centre, mini-golf, pedalos, fishing, children's games, adventure trail, theme trails, climbing, summer ski jump.
The Le Pontet bathing lake opens in early July. Entry is free, and supervision and maintenance services are provided. It is a natural lake, covering 5000 m2 and is maximum 180 cm deep. The heating system is also natural : the water flows gently into a second, small pool shallower and well exposed to the sun, to reach a temperature between 19 and 25 degrees. The sandy beaches slope steadily down to the water; a shallow area for small children. There is a footbridge to cross the pool; surrounded by greenery.
Cleaning is taking care of - we have a dedicated cleaning team who looks forward to welcoming you. Upon arrival the beds are made. Bedlinen, towels, tea towels are all available. If you are travelling with young children we can prepare a travel cot or prepare the alcove bed, ideal for children.
There is plenty of storage space and you don't have live out of a suitcase for a whole week.
Ski:
Les Contamines is unique for its snow record and spectacular slopes with panoramic views of the Mont Blanc. Regardless of your ski level there is plenty to offer snowboarders, skiers and cross country skiers.
It seldom gets over-crowded, no queue jumping or rush hour on the slopes - it really feels like holiday for everyone.
The local navette is reliable. It stops just outside ad takes you to the main caple cars plus the Station Nordique for the cross country skiers. There's free P is you prefer driving to the caple cars.
