The house is furnished, and finished to a high standard. It possesses all the equipment you would want of a holiday home to make your stay more enjoyable. You could relax in the comfortable lounge or stay up late to discuss the day's events without disturbing sleepers upstairs. You may want to enjoy a glass or two of the local wine on the roof terrace, and gaze at the stars above and glimmering lights of far away towns. If the visibility is good you can see the north African coastal mountains.
The house is well situated for daily provisions as there are shops within five minutes walk, including bakeries, butchers, fishmongers, fruit and vegetable stores, pharmacies and bazaars. However, you may want to resupply your holiday provisions at the town's largest supermarket, just 10 minutes walk away or by car. Similarly bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
The communal pools are 150m along the road, which is close yet far enough to remain peaceful.
Your town is a Pueblos Blancos hilltop town:
Fought over in Medieval times by the Spanish and the Moors, it changed hands many times, hence the de la Frontera. It retains many relics from those times. You can walk down the narrow cobbled streets and tiled squares of the medieval old town, browse through the many artisan shops and refresh at the many bars and restaurants. In the high season, enjoy the free street entertainment (flamenco and music) with the locals, which goes on into the small hours – this is Spain remember. Or you can stop at the many viewpoints and admire the surrounding views.
The town is frequented by Spanish holiday makers and other travellers seeking the real Spain or a different holiday.
The local unspoilt sandy beach El Palmar is a 10 minutes drive away along a picturesque road. Here you can enjoy surfing, bathing, a massage on the beach and watch the sun set with Spanish holidaymakers at a beach bar drinking the local chilled wine drink.
Your surrounds:
The historic towns of Puerto Santa Maria, where Columbus set off to discover America, and Cadiz are less than an hours drive away. As is Gibraltar and Tarifa where you can wind or kite surf, or a fast ferry to Morocco and its bazaars. Further afield is the famous nature reserve of Danana National Park. Here you can experience the wild west town of El Rocio, where you can still ride into town and tie your horse outside the saloon.
There are numerous golf courses within a easy driving distance.
The region is famous for horses and there are many places offering horse riding in the countryside, beaches and nature parks.
Golf:
One of the best golf courses in the region is Montenmedio is situated just outside of Vejer. There are several other golf courses within a short drive away, including Benalup.
