Further details for this holiday villa rental in Sablet, France

The ideal holiday spot for Wine lovers: Sablet is on the Route des Vins. The local wines of the Southern Rhone are famous and certainly worth tasting! You can follow the signs for the Route des Vins trail by car or if you are feeling very fit, on bicycles!! You will be made very welcome by all the local vineyards, where you will be able to taste these delicious wines often served with equally delicious snacks from the area, such as freshly made tapenade (olive paste) with french bread. And best of all - there is no pressure for you to buy the wines. If you would like to do the Route des Vins in style, we can organise a wine guide for you. There will be a charge made per person, but you will be driven from lovely vineyard to lovely vineyard and delivered safely back to the villa.

For any budding chefs out there: This area is a haven for foodies. The local market in Vaison la Romaine on a Tuesday morning is a place where you can completely lose yourself. You can buy all local produce and then go home and let your creativity take over the cooking. You will be amazed at just how many different types of tomato are available in this are and they all seem to taste of sunshine. You have a huge number of restaurants in this area ranging from the local Sports bar in the centre of the village to fine dining at Les Abeilles, also in the village The good thing being that you can walk to these restaurants. The Patron/Chef at Les Abeilles, Johannes Sailer, is a fantastic chef and he often holds cooking classes. If you are interested in attending a class please let me know at the time of booking.

For those of you who just want to relax and unwind: You will not find a more perfect place for unwinding. The villa is set amongst vineyards and the garden has so many lovely shady areas for your afternoon siesta. The outside summer kitchen with BBQ means that all your meals can be taken outside taking in the lovely scenery. From our experience, the inside of the villa gets used very little in the summer. If you do feel energetic, you can put on your sunscreen, sunhat and walking shoes and walk across the vineyards to the lovely village of Segueret (which is just behind the villa) and here you will find even more delightful restaurants to tempt you!

A little piece of French heaven

Review Submitted: October 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The house and its location are nigh perfect. It is set (and secluded) amongst vineyards and near a little village on a hilltop a very walkable 1 km away. The premises are luxurious, with a vine-clad eating area outside. The lovely pool has catering facilities beside it. The gardens are substantial and beautifully considered and maintained. You will certainly feel very special staying here! There are lots of interesting villages and towns nearby, and Avignon is only a short drive.

Great holiday

We spent a week or so in Sablet and loved it. The villa itself was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely small garden and pool. A feature of the house was its large kitchen and its view across the vineyards to the small town of Sablet - a pleasing walk in the morning to get a paper and some croissants! And of course the villa's location meant journies to Avignon, Orange, even to the coast were easily undertaken. A strong recommendation from us!

Experiencing Provence at its most beautiful

Mrs Raia M London, England
Review Submitted: June 17, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
Do you want to see why the Impressionist made so many paintings of southern France then just come to this fabulous place. We have been going there for many years and everytime we go there is something new and at the same time reassuringly familiar. Rustic with all the modern amenities that you need, spacious home with a wonderful views. The house commands what we call a million dollar view. Sitting on the verandah, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner gives you the view of the medieval town, no words or pictures can convey the sight, you have to be there! Our children love this place as the pool and surroundings are completely private and on each visit they compete for the title of Boules Champion. But at the same time for us grown ups we can be so close to many famous sights and views. Many family members and friends of different ages have enjoyed this piece of paradise. Try it for yourselves - you will not be disappointed!

The house at Sablet - a pleasure to experience

Angela M Sardinia
Review Submitted: March 23, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
If you are looking for a very special hideaway, then this is it. The house is beautifully decorated, very comfortably furnished and extremely well maintained by the owners. The atmosphere is one that aids relaxation and pure enjoyment. The swimming pool area, gardens and grounds with strategically placed apple trees to hide under when the sun is at its hottest, are a delight to look at and a pleasure to experience. Eating under cover looking out over the small town of Sablet, particularly in the evening when the lights are coming on in the town and the sun is going down, is truly magical. The owners are very responsive and have high standards themselves and these are visible in the way the house and grounds have been looked after. The pool area has all the facilities needed to enjoy lunch or an evening bbq in comfort and peace. The house is in a secluded position but Sablet is close enough for a walk to town to get the breakfast croissants or an evening stroll to one of the restaurants in town. If getting out and about is your way of relaxing, then there are plenty of places to visit in the area and many walks in the countryside surrounding the house. I have stayed here many times and have recommended it to many of my friends. Be careful though, when you leave, you leave a little bit of yourself behind ready for your next visit!
