Photos and Description of this Coux et Bigaroque holiday cottage Romantic getaway deep in the Dordogne countryside

The Music Room is a beautiful conversion of an old Perigourdine farmhouse. Formerly it housed a splendid grand piano and with its beamed, cathedral ceiling was renowned locally for its classical concerts and musical soirees. Now the former minstrels gallery provides comfortable sleeping accommodation, overlooking the large open-plan living area below. A new and modern kitchen, and attractive shower-room with separate WC have been added making this the perfect romantic get-a-way. Relax on the comfortable antique sofa listening to a CD on the music centre and try to capture the musical history of the building. Lunchtimes and evenings can be spent under the shade of the large walnut tree, just beyond the French windows leading from the kitchen and overlooking the small private garden, with fields and woods beyond. A TV, video player and a large supply of videos, plus a good supply of books are provided.

The property is located approximately 1 km from the Dordogne river. The small village of Le Coux with its small general store providing all your daily needs (with larger supermarkets closeby), and wine cave is a short 5 minute drive away. An ideal spot for golfers with the nearest course in Le Soirac a little over 5 miles away, and many more to choose from, all within a short driving distance. Walkers and cyclists will love the peace and quiet of the hills and wooded lanes that surround the area.

Der ehemalige Salle de Musique einer englischen Musikerin ist ein großer, bis in den Dachstuhl offener Raum mit einem geräumigen Anbau für Küche und Dusche/WC (getrennt). Bett auf einer Empore. Dort ist es bei großer Hitze etwas stickig (ein Ventilator ist vorhanden). Liebevolle Ausstattung, sauber, sehr freundliche Landlady. Gepflegter Garten zum Sitzen, schöner Ausblick über die umliegenden Hügel und Wälder; Hof mit Kiesbelag. Gartenmöbel zum Sonnenbaden. Sehr ruhig. Einige (Ferien-)Häuser in der Nachbarschaft, nächster Ort Coux-et-Bigaroque ca. 3 km, dort Einkaufsmöglichkeit und Strand an der Dordogne. Wanderweg direkt am Haus vorbei. Viel anzuschauen und zu unternehmen in der Umgebung.
Fazit: ein schönes, gepflegtes Haus.
