The 'old bakery' house with garden in historical Tuscany.
A cozy little palace in the centre of 14thcentury Lucignano, 30km from Siena and 35km from Arezzo. The house used to host on ground floor the village's ancient bakery, with a huge fire-place which is still in use, and on the same level are the canteen, a bricolage room, a toilet and the laundry. On first floor are a wide kitchen with a fire place, a living room, a studio and a bathroom: outside this level is the garden (shaded by a very old cherry tree) overlooking peaceful Tuscan countryside, just atop the old village defensive walls. On top floor are two double rooms with a bathroom. The house is fully equipped (central heating, hot water, TV, etc) and has been restored in 2004 as a country house by the owner, who is an architect. The site is comfortable, no noise, absolutely peaceful, and life in Lucignano is easy, cheap and relaxing, giving the possibility to visit several important historical monuments inside the village and all around, in Arezzo, Siena, Florence, Pien.

Lucignano is located across the Siena and Arezzo provinces. Both towns are easily connected by bus service, so as Cortona, Pienza, Montevarchi, San Giovanni Valdarno, and obviously Florence are. The countryside surrounding Lucignano is particularly unspoiled, and in the middle of olive crops one can find a solitary Vasari church (Madonna delle Querce) or the villages of Monterchi, or the incredible Abbazia of Sant'Antimo. Good restaurants or the spa in Saturnia or Rapolano, or Bagno Vignoni, can satisfy any leisure will.
