Photos and Description of this Corfu holiday cottage In a prime position right on the beach in Agni Bay offering astonishing views.

This is the perfect summer holiday location, a few steps to the sea, a wonderful spot for a romantic getaway, where you can sit on your terrace at night and watch the moon reflect on the water. Equally a great place for families as you are just seconds from the beach making it easy to keep an eye on the youngsters. Local materials focus in this cottage, stone, timber and floors are tiled or wood, it is well maintained and immaculately clean. The cottage has excellent facilities and the luxury of 3 fabulous tavernas nearby, almost on the doorstep. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen/diner (microwave and cooker) opening onto a shaded sea-facing terrace. The bathroom is also located on this floor. There is a sofa bed in the dining area that can accommodate 1 child. On the first floor are 2 bedrooms, one twin and one double, both air-conditioned. The double bedroom has access to the covered balcony with wonderful views over the sea to Albania.

In Greek Agni means “pure” and this describes the bay perfectly. It is not a 'resort' as there are just three Tavernas, each with their own jetty for mooring up to. Yachts, large motor cruisers and small hired boats often frequent the bay as the culinary delights of the Tavernas of Agni are famous. The bay can also be accessed via the narrow road and there is a public car park these days. Individual houses directly on the beach are rare enough, but to find one in Agni is the icing on the cake! Those who are familiar with north-east Corfu will know that Agni is one of the island’s prettiest bays. The beach here is white-pebble shelving into the bluest of seas. Boat hire, which we can arrange for you, is highly recommended– this part of the coastline is ideal for exploration by sea. This is the perfect summer holiday location.

Brilliant, social, location on the waters edge

Olga's fantistic location by the waters edge made the holiday for us, the taverna was not too noisy (and quiet by 11pm) except on Greek Night - when it was best to join in. Early morning swims were a must - and the taverna (or coffe shop behind) will bring you an expresso or fresh orange juice and bread for breakfast. Agni was very quiet in the monrings until lunchtime and the upstair's balcony seemed private, as you looked over the heads of passing people. The downstairs seating patio was more social with everyone very friendly. Main room and bedroom a good size, and that view priceless. A minor concern was that the bathroom could do with an overhall - but the property was very clean. We held a large family party in the adjoining Nicolas Taverna who were brilliant all week.

My husband and I booked the house for 2 weeks at the end of September 2008, and 2 of our friends came out to join us for a week within that time.

We all found the house to be very well equipped, with modern facilities and were amazed to find the sea is as close and as clear as it looks in the pictures! The setting is beautiful and boats visiting the tavernas means you get new neighbours most days!

The key collecting and cleaning arrangements worked fine, and the owner was very helpful with any advice about the area as well as the house itself (and let us park two cars off the road instead of just one).

The tavernas nearby vary in price although we found the closest to be extremely welcoming and friendly, so spent a lot of time there (don't miss the Greek night on a Thursday!).

All in all we really enjoyed our holiday at Olga Cottage and would reccommend for anyone not wanting to be in a busy resort location, although a car is essential to get to a shop, unless you use the Agni hostelries even more than we did!

This property more than lived up to expectation and we would definitely recommend to a friend. Found in excellent order, and maid service very good. The cottage is indeed 10 yards from the pebble beach and sea beautifully clear.
We ate at Taverna Nikolas on several occassions - the cottage adjoins the Taverna so not far to go! Brilliant friendly service and would recommend going to the Greek night. Also hired a boat from Agni Bay boat hire, which can be found at the same taverna. A car/boat is useful as no shops at the bay but Kalami just a few minutes drive away at the next bay - also walkable in about 15 mins.
