Photos and Description of this St Vaury holiday apartment self-catering cottage and converted barn in rural central france

At Le Chez we have 2 gites, one is a converted barn (Le Grange which sleeps 4) and one is an ancient farmhouse (Le Gite au Chez which sleeps 3 or 4) which we have restored retaining the charm & exposed stone work. They are situated on two sides of a courtyard on an old farm in very tranquil surroundings. There are many walks from the property which are also mountain biking tracks. Ideal place for a quiet get away or house hunting as we are between Gueret & La Souterraine. Limoges airport (flights from Stansted, Bristol, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Luton, Liverpool & Southampton) one hour away and La Souterraine station is 20 minutes away where there are trains from Paris( Gare Austerlitz) .. Child friendly. BBQ available There are 2 tennis courts in the village. La Grange is a newly converted part of a barn so is spacious & light. It has exposed stone walls downstairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double & one twin, with a bathroom in between. Downstairs is the spacious kitchen/dining and sitting room area with a wood burning stove for Winter months. The kitchen is well equipped and has a semi-professional cooker with an electric oven & gas hob, a fridge with ice box. We have plenty of land ( approx.4.5 hectares) you are welcome to roam in. BBQ available. Cot, high chair & baby bath available. Table tennis at the property. Lets are Saturday to Saturday but we like to be flexible if we can be. The gites are on two sides of a courtyard in a hamlet in very tranquil surroundings, 1km from the village of St.Vaury where there are several small shops, 2 bakeries, one charcuterie, post office, 2 banks, pharmacie. Gueret is 10km away where there are many shops and 2 museums. Eiffel bridge is 30 minutes away. Visit Fresselines & walk the Monet tour by the river where he did a series of paintings. Horse riding now in the village. cottage, farmhouse, gite, rural, calm, tranquil, quiet get away, cycling, birdwatching, rambling, hiking, fishing, horseriding, tennis, child friendly, VTT, mountain bikinig.

Sauber, ruhig, einfach schön!!

Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet, auch schien es, dass alles noch sehr neu war. Frühstücken kann man gut vor dem Haus unter einem Sonnensegel. Die Wohnung liegt außerhalb des Ortes St. Vaury und ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Trotzdem sind es nur 2 Min. mit dem Auto in den Ort. Dort gibt es zwei Bäcker, die sich mit den Öffnungszeiten wohl abwechseln, also jeden Morgen frische leckere Croissants (uns war das wichtig).

Wenn man Glück hat, kann man hinter dem Haus Rehe beobachten, also wer eins hat, Fernglas mitnehmen. Aber auch Greif- und Singvögel und Bisamratten konnten wir beobachten.

In Le Bourg d´Hem und in Gueret sind zwei schöne Badeseen, für kleine und große Kinder geeignet. In Gueret ist auch Wassersport möglich.Ansonsten ist die Gegend zum Wandern sehr gut geeignet, es gibt dort nummerierte Wanderwege, die im Internet nachzusehen sind. Wer Radtouren machen will, sollte aber fit sein, ist schon ziemlich hügelig.

Die Vermieter sind offenherzig, nett und beantworten alle Fragen und geben gute Tipps für die Umgebung, aber natürlich alles in englisch. Die Angaben im im Inserat stimmen, die Wohnung ist gemütlich, die Kochgelegenheit ist schön, sauber und praktisch (alles mit Gas).
