Good value apartment,magnificent beach/sea views, Canet Plage, Sth France.

This self catering apartment is situated in a very convenient position for the bars and shops in the town centre and also for romantic walks along the beach and around the wonderful marina. It is perfect for summer and winter breaks! The situation is safe for small children and independent teenagers. The beach extends for miles and it is possible to walk or cycle to the next town along the sea road. The apartment is on the third floor of a small block with magnificent views of the beautiful beach and mountains at the rear. Perpignan is FAB. There is a balcony at the front to watch the romantic sunrise and a balcony at the rear to enjoy the late afternoon sun over Mount Canigou. There is a secure entry system and a lift. There are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. The apartment has a large living space with a kitchen area. The bathroom has a bath with shower. The toilet is a separate room.There is a washing machine.

Canet is situated in the south west corner of France near the Spanish border. It is in the Languedoc/Roussillon region which lies between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees Mountains with plenty of vineyards in between. Canet is a small seaside town spread along a wide sandy beach which stretches to the next town of St Cyprien. The apartment is situated in a very convenient position for walking to the centre and around the marina. Canet Plage is open all year although some restaurants are closed at certain times. There are small supermarkets nearby and some shops open all year, the larger supermarket is a 20 minute walk away and there is now a direct bus service . The local market is near the central plaza where you can buy an abundance of fresh produce to enjoy at the apartment. The Tourist Information Office is in the plaza too. There is a cheap and reliable bus service to Perpignan which runs all year. Driving around the region out of season is a joy with beautiful scenery.

Canet-Plage is open all year. In the summer it is very lively with additonal beach bars with sun beds to hire, children's play areas and an evening market. In the winter it is an ideal location for long walks and cycling and for visiting the mountains nearby for skiing. The bus service to Perpignan runs all year round. There is a bus and taxi service from the airport.

There is a table and chairs on the balcony. The fantastic view provides the perfect setting for fabulous lunches in the warmth of the sun and romantic evening meals by candlelight overlooking the Mediterranean. The seafront position of the apartment makes visits to the beach for sunbathing and swimming so easy. The living space is large and airy enjoying an uninterrupted sea view. There are two sofas, a large dining table and chairs and a kitchen area within the living space. The apartment has a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is convenient for the beach and for the mountains. It is ideal for summer and winter retreats. There is a small, fully operational lift as well as an indoor stairway to the apartment. The front entrance to the apartment block is on one level and there are no stairs from the lift nor within the apartment. Bed linen is provided as well as bathroom towels. Beach towels are not supplied. Beach umbrella. There is central heating for a cosy autumn/winter break.

About Canet-Plage

Canet is situated in the sunny south west corner of France near the Spanish border. It lies in the Roussillon region between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees mountains which is a major wine, fruit and vegetable producing plain.The area is a very popular French holiday resort. Canet is a small seaside town spread along a wide sandy beach which stretches to the next town of St Cyprien. Canet Plage is ideal for families and couples. People like to walk, cycle and rollerblade along the front. In the summer there is an evening market, all day beach clubs and many other activities, some which are available all year -diving, swimming, tennis, sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, water skiing and cycling. The region is ideal for exploring all year round with beautiful mountain scenery, an abundance of vineyards, individual villages such as Fitou and Collioure and historical towns such as Carcassone nearby. It is possible to drive to Barcelona or the snowcapped mountains.

Canet Plage is open all year with lots of restaurants open between May and September.There is a market and small shops near the Place Mediterranean, the larger supermarket is a 20 minute walk away or catch a bus; there is a shopping trolley in the apartment to help you with your shopping. There are clothes and gift shops.There is a good tourist information office in the plaza also open all year. Canet is also a great place to visit out of season if you are looking for a romantic or peaceful break - the long,empty beaches stretch for miles. In summer there is an evening market and lots of activities around the plaza.There is a public indoor swimming pool just around the corner for a summer or winter swim. There are organised trips available from Canet. There is a reliable bus service to Perpignan and to the airport. The airport now has regular flights from the UK and Ireland. It is possible to hire a car at Perpignan Airport and the drive to Canet-Plage is only 15 minutes.

Perpignan has some great shops and riverside restaurants and is busy all year. For those with a car, there are many wonderful vineyards to visit including those in the Fitou and Corbiere regions. The beautiful towns and villages nearby are full of historical interest as this is an area steeped in early French history. The ancient city of Carcassone, the artists' seaside town of Coulliore and Barcelona, only 90 minutes away, are just a few of the many fantastic towns to visit. There are beautiful views to be found in the plains of the Pyrenees and by driving further into the highlands to the ski resorts. You are guaranteed a truly 'French' experience in this area - good food and wine! Stopping for lunch is essential! The rail connections from Perpignan include Barcelona.
