A large villa on an enclosed, gated, private estate with private access to a secluded beach. The house has a private pool, a large fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, lounge/dining room with terrace overlooking the Atlantic and Cies islands. Both the lounge and the terrace have ten seater dining tables. The terrace has an electrically-operated awning. There is a second lounge, with high quality double bed/sofa, TV & DVD opening to small terrace with bbq and the pool. The rest of the villa consists of 4 double bedrooms (2 with double beds, two with twin beds), 4 bathrooms of which two are en-suite and all of which have shower/toilet, 3 have bidets. There is a laundry with washing machine and a double garage with a full sized tabletennis table. The house is equipped throughout with broadband Wi Fi internet access. Furniture and fittings are of high quality and mostly new in 2008. Towels, bed linen and parasols are provided. Our neighbour Fatima will welcome you and be available.

Gastronomy! One thing you must do here is eat and drink. Galicia has excellent wine Albarino and Ribeiro and, all Spaniards agree, the best fish and seafood in Spain. Despite the buoyant local economy ( 8% growth in the past few years) prices remain reasonable. You are within easy reach of Vigo and Baiona with a huge choice of restaurants, there are also two within easy walking distance. The villa beach is fairly inaccessible to the public and has white sand. There is also Playa America beach, Panxon beach, Bao and Samil beach within 8 Km, Samil has many free attractions for children. Santiago de Compostela and its medieval pilgrim route is an hour's drive, Oporto (for port of course) 1.5hrs and Valença, a walled fortress town and its Spanish neighbour Tui on the river Mino, 30m away. The mountains plunge down to the sea in this area so there is plenty of chance to walk or bike and the views are fantastic. If you have never been to this part of Spain you will be pleasantly surprised.

Additional information about rental rates

  • 25 % of the full cost is payable at the booking stage. This reserves your booking and will be confirmed with an e-mail from the owners. Attached to the e-mail will be a booking form which we ask you fill in and return to us. The contract will be in force once the deposit is in the bank. The balance, and a £250 (or 350€) refundable damage deposit is due 6 weeks prior to departure. Please send a cheque made out in sterling or euros to the owner’s address or request bank details for a BACS transfer. Late payment may result in cancellation of the booking and loss of the deposit paid.We reserve the right to refuse a booking.
    Change-over day is flexible within the constraints of other bookings but should be agreed with the owners, though in high season bookings will normally be from Saturday afternoon to the following Saturday 12.00pm.
  • Cancellations
    0 -14 days before departure – 100 % payable
    15 – 28 days before departure – 75 % payable
    29 – 42 days before dep arture – 50 % payable
    43 days onwards – loss of deposit i.e 25 %
    Please notify the owners of the cancellation in writing and enclose the appropriate cheque for any balance due.
    Terms.
    Tenants should take out holiday insurance including medical cover. There will be information in the house about the local medical services.
    Liabilities
    The owners cannot accept any liability for circumstances arising out of their control, amounting to ‘force majeure’. This includes war or threat of war, industrial action, terrorist activities, riot, civil war, avian flu (or the threat of such), weather, earthquake, failure of electric, gas or water supply, noise, etc. The owners will not be responsible for any accident that occurs on the property.   • The villa has four bedrooms with new beds and bed linen plus a fifth sofa/bed in the second lounge which could be 'converted' into an en-suite bedroom if required. Two of the bedrooms have en-suites (although one of those en suites has a lockable door to the hall too). All bedrooms have radiators, three have parquet floors and one a tiled floor. Three have built-in wardrobes. Three bedrooms have sea views and you can hear the sea.

Notes: The garden is small but adequate for socialising and sunbathing but not games, although there is an excellent table tennis table ste up in the double garage. There is a terrace ajacent to the pool. The pool has a tiled surround. The hob has five rings and the kitchen is equipped with all utensils. The washing macine is in a separate laundry area. There is no maid service but our neighbours Fatima is able to help and advise on any difficulties which may arise - Fatima speaks English well.

How to get there: The cheapest way to he villa is to fly to Santiago de Compostela (1hr from the house) or Oporto (1.5hrs from the house) with either Ryanair or Easyjet and then hire a car. Alternatively you can fly to the same airports with BA, Iberia or TAP. Best to ignore Vigo airport because you will almost certainly have to change flights at a Spanish airport and the pain is not worth the gain. Driving is not impossible if you wanted to make a holiday of the journey too, it is around 1250 miles and 20 hours in the saddle from Dover. You could also consider the 24 hour sea crossing to either Bibao or Santander though beware, you would still have a six hour drive from there to Vigo. The link below gets you to an interactive map. Casa Tico - a wonderful place

I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Tico for a week in July 09. It is a lovely place, that the websites photos don't do justice to. It is modern, well equipped, clean and in a beautiful location and proved to be perfect for the needs of our family - young and old. Ken (the owner) was excellent to deal with throughout and I would highly recommend Casa Tico to anyone else. I also plan to stay there again in the future.

Well-equipped and comfortable

We didn't lack anything, really, during our week-long stay at this nicely located house, on a slope, a few minutes walk from the beach. Six persons and four bathrooms. We rarely had to wait when we needed to hit the showers. I would have liked to use the ping-pong table more but found no partner so I tried to play against the wall, with limited success.
Kitchen is supplied with just about everything. Maybe the knives could have been a bit sharper, but we made some great meals there. Cosy evenings on the terrace, great pool and a breathtaking view over the ocean. Yes,we can recommend it.

We had nice two weeks in this lovely house. We enjoyed the pool very much. The equipment in the kitchen was perfect, so it was a pleasure to cook. The view from the terrasse – watching the sunset was great!

The very spacious house is situated in a quiet and safe environment. It is equipped with all one needs and additionally with a lot of comfort. Furniture and household equipment are almost new, all looks clean and well-kept. You will enjoy the swimming-pool and the direct access to a small but beautiful beach, and you will never forget the fantastic sea (and Islas Cies) view from the veranda, especially during sunset. But don't fail to visit at least some of the restaurants recommended by the house-owner (two of which are within walking distance). Galician cooking is superb, both for seafood and meat lovers. Summarizing: highly recommended.
