Ceret holiday house

This spacious house is in an excellent, convenient location with high ceilings, open plan living/dining area with plenty of comfortable seating for 6. The well-equipped kitchen has kettle, cafetierre, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of dishes and cutlery to fill the dishwasher and still have enough to use. The terrace has dining seating for 6-8 plus 2 comfortable lounge chairs. The bathroom has a shower/bath with good water pressure, spacious vanity and cupboard. The main bedroom is spacious and all the beds are comfortable with plenty of linens, towels, etc. The upstairs bedroom is appropriate for children or a second couple although the upstairs toilet and lavatory are under the eaves and only accessible through a 4 foot door opening (about 5 foot 2 inches standing height at the lavatory). Not a big problem but it means it's not a good idea for 2 couples sharing the house equally without being clear that there aren't two equal bath areas. The owners have provided some nice extras: French dictionary, local maps and guidebook, cool boxes and cool packs for picnics, television in English and French, comfortable lounge chairs on the terrace, beach towels. The garage is another real plus. Finally, the town . . . Ceret is a charming town with enough facilities to allow you to walk to your choice of cafes, markets, supermarkets, boulangeries, paper shops and restaurants while still seeming like a small, friendly, comfortable town. It is easily accessible to the motorway and to many wonderful Catalan sites. We spent 4 weeks in September and had almost perfect weather every day, sunny and temperate. We were able to leave all the French doors open most of the time and the house was cool and bug free. We have recommended this property to friends and heartily recommend it here as well.
