The Golf Course: The golf course at hacienda Riquelme is a par 72. 18 hole, Jack Nicklaus design. With an abundance of bunkers and fairways flanked by lakes, it makes it a challenge even for the most accomplished golfer.During the summer months it is possible to book a twilight round after 5pm. During the 2008 season this cost €30. The full cost of a round can be discounted down to €55 (2008 rates) as a guest of an owner.

Cycling: As there are so many beautiful areas to see within a short distance of the resort, we have provided two mountain bikes which you are free to use during your stay. Using current cycle rental rates, this will save nearly €100 per week in rental costs.

We have just returned from a fantastic 1 week break at this apartment. The accomodation is first class,in as new condition. The rooms are spacious and well finished and there is all you need for self catering with home from home facilities. Air conditioning is fitted in the main living areas and the fans in the bedroom allow cooling from the hotest weather/temperatures.The owners provided first class customer service keeping us up to date and providing all information the information we needed that was accurate and helpful. The apartment is in an excellent prime ground floor position and has a good outside and shaded area for eating/relaxing with a small grassed area for sunbathing. The lovely pool is 25yds away and we had use of this almost to ourselves although it was particularly quiet during our stay.
The apartment is suitable for couples/families that are seeking a quieter type of break and there is the lovely golf course and driving ranges for use. You would definately need a car to get around the rural area because there is not much nearby other than the golf/pool. Travelling by car within an hour will get you to some more tourist type areas and shopping facilities although you could manage with the shop on the site.
The owners let us have use of bikes and golf clubs which was I feel generous and saved additional expense.
I would go again and would have no hesitation recommending it to friends.
Eating out is there are a couple of places in nearby Sukina for an Indian/Pizza/Tapas that were excellent but you would need to travel further for much more than this.

Altough I have rated this as 4* it would become 5* as soon as Polaris World develop the Hacienda/Town Centre which they are supposed to be starting this September'09. Duncan and Christine's apartment is absolutely beautifully furnished as you can see from the published photographs. It is in a great position within Hacienda Riquelm especially for families with small children. Should you not wish to stay on site all your holiday then a car is essential, with the nearest town (Sucina) being more than a comfortable walking distance. The onsite security is excellent and will always give you a wave plus the underbuilding parking is spacious with very easy access/egress compared to most. We used it all the time as getting into a car that has been stood in 40 degree heat.is a little overwhelming. Once you have transport, Murcia and the Costa Calida in it's entireity is within an hours drive as is Torrevieja and the towns of the Southern Costa Blanca.
If you are a golf nut (as I am) the HRG course will test the very best amongst you and the condition of the fairways,bunkers and greens is superb. The water hazards can be magnetic though so please show some restraint and don't loose ALL of Duncans balls if you borrow the set of clubs etc, that he has provided as I did.

Finally I would just like to thank Duncan and Christine once again for their friendliness and correspondence during booking and allowing us to stay for a couple of weeks in their beatiful holiday home.

To any prospective clients , I can highly recommend this as an apartment to book for a holiday in the sun.
