Superb Lodge

Hurdy Birmingham, UK
Review Submitted: September 1, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
I would have to say that this property is even better than it looks on the website. It is spacious, immaculate and has every comfort you could wish for. The site itself is well maintained and our two kids had a great time in the leisure pool. There is a restaurant onsite which serves good value quality food. The location is superb and as the previous poster has noted, the treeline around the site does a great job of blanking out any motorway noise. The owners could not be more helpful - I only wish all holiday properties were like this.
Owner's Response: Thank you for so very much for your complimentery review,it was a great pleasure to have had you and your lovely family staying at the lodge,we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and thanks again for your kind words. John and Doreen

Got to say what a cracking service by John on arrival and departure.Me and my partner have travelled well over the years and I must say this cabin is up with best hotels for comfort. We were only a long weekend break but it was that relaxing it felt like a week. The location of the site is so easy to access from the motorway and is pretty central to all surrounding areas i.e Windermere, kendall,Lancaster etc.We would recommend this cabin to anyone wishing luxury accommodation on a great site.Didn't use swimming pool and restaurant facilities but believe they are great value.Hope to return soon

Short April break, the kids wanted to stay longer

Steve 62 Pontefract
Review Submitted: April 17, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Just got back from a lovely short break in the lodge. The property was superb and better than we could have expected. The photo's don't do it justice. It is lovely, well kept, clean and tidy. John was extremely helpful, punctual but not pushy.
There is slight noise from the nearby M6 but not intrusive. The swimming pool is great for the kids and very good value. We had both a lunch and an evening meal at the restaurant. Both were good value for money and the choice is excellent.
The kids didn't want to leave when it was time to come home. There is plenty of space for children to play ball games, cycle or just to explore in general in complete safety.
We have already started recommending it to family and friends and are looking forward to another visit, hopefully later this year. The lakes and coast are both nearby as is the trout fishing on Esthwaite Water which both girls thoroughly enjoyed.
Having stayed on numerous occasions at Centre Parcs this was by far better value for money and the standard of accomodation equally as good if not better. (We always have the executive lodges there.)
Thanks John

We are very fussy when choosing holiday accomodation . This is one of the nicest we've stayed in. A beautiful part of the country, wonderful site ( love the pool) and the lodge is so luxurious. Will definitely recommend to family and friends and will be back for a return visit.Thankyou John for your hospitality - not at all intrusive but always available if needed.

May Bank Holiday Weekend 2008

The four J's Manchester
Review Submitted: May 16, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Firstly before we booked I looked on the Google satellite MAP, which showed a building site. I did some research and found that the map was several years old and that in fact the site was mostly complete. My family stayed for 3 nights. Me and my wife, Son 11yrs and Daughter 4yrs. The Lodge was brand new and exactly as the pictures portrayed. It even had full central heating with a combi boiler, and double glazing. The living room is the best feature with plenty of space. Also with the free view LCD TV and DVD my kids had plenty to watch. The complex has loads of space for the kids to play, and my children made some new friends. My son did some fishing in the lake and caught a Perch and a small Pike. The leisure center is well equipped. We only used the swimming pool which is a good size and costs £10 for a family for the whole day. Whilst there we went to Morecambe 20 mins away which has a lovely promenade. Windermere 30 mins away. Also we used Carnforth 5mins away for shopping because of the supermarkets and takeaways. Overall we found the accommodation to be excellent. and the complex well laid out. The Motorway is very close but we could hardly hear it. We spent plenty of time on the veranda and forgot the motorway was there. The only unfinished areas are at each end of the complex and therefore do not effect in any way the access, use or views from this Lodge. We had a great time and will definitely stay there again. Thanks to John for looking after us.
