Cala Morrell near Ciutadella is a beautiful, quiet, rocky little resort famous for its incredible prehistoric caves.
There are no large hotels here but mainly privately owned villas, creating an 'exclusive' feel.
The beach is small although there are some excellent platforms in the surrounding cliffs providing opportunities for swimming and snorkelling.
This is a very tranquil resort, totally unspoiled by tourism and much cleaner and quieter than many others on the island. The famous city of Ciutadella (the old capital) is a short car ride away.
It oozes history and is amazingly beautiful with its quaint little streets full of interesting shops and stunning buildings.
The port has many excellent restaurants and bars and is the perfect place to sit, relax and watch the world go by. Ciutadella is host to the island's largest and most popular festival, the Fiesta de San Juan which takes place on 23-24 June each year.
