October Break for Valencia Moto GP

We opted for Cala Finnestrat to avoid the 'glare of Benidorm'; a nice little bay with a number of decent bars and restuarants (Sol Mio being our favourite), very quiet (dead!) at night at this time of year (on more than one occassion I was last to leave Malones, an that was before 11.30pm!), however Benidorm is only 1.20 Euro each on bus and approx 8 Euro back in a taxi. We also had a rental car for the week which enabled us to get out and about. We met a number of freindly expats in Deja Vu across from the apartment (which is probably less likely to happen in the summer) who gave us some good pointers as to where to go and actually took us into Benidorm on the bus the first time.
The apartment is a good size, well furnished and equiped (don't rely on the sat TV for entertainment as only CNN and Eurosport in English). There is little noise (although a very large complex being built across from the balcony towrds the sea was 'no-hold' which no doubt helped) apart from noisy neighbours at 7am every morning, they were Spanish but don't know if they were visitors or permanent residents. The 'swimming' pool is closed as of 1st October, however it's sheilded from the sun for most of the day anyway by a 21 storey apartment block which is not evident in the on-line pictures; speaking of which, the 'view' from the balcony is not the view from this apartment, the apartment looks across the pool (not 'end-on as shown) directly at the 21 storey apartment block, hence no day time sun and poor view - the only real criticism.
The beach is only 2 minutes walk as described and is clean and well maintained, as is the resort of Cala Finnestrat. All in all, a nice early winter break, couple of good trips up to the race circuit in Valencia. Friendly and attentive staff in all the bars (except the owner of The Ship who was a snooty mare, more interested in her friends and family than the random customer, we only went there once, her loss!).
Many of the people in the resort at this time of year were elderly, residents or Spanish, in many cases all three!
