Photos and Description of this Cotignac holiday house A self catering house with pool and large garden ,walking distance of Cotignac.

Le Derroc is a large bastide in Provençal style with a large well maintained garden and wonderful views. It is ideal for one or two families who wish to have a quiet holiday in the sun with all amenities. It sits in its own large garden with many large trees, an enormous terrace and a swimming pool. The beautifully furnished house has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an enormous family kitchen, with a dining table, so that all can be involved with the preparation and consumption of the truly French meals which will be served, both inside and outside. The sitting room is comfortable and has satellite TV with English channels. All the bedrooms have air-con, and mosquito nets, there is also air-con in the kitchen/dining room. Outside ,there is a boule area behind the house and an outside table tennis table. The house is within easy walking distance of the village yet it is down a cul de sac in the country so it is quiet, yet accessible.

  • Electricity is extra all the year round.
    There are two extra bedrooms which can be rented at an extra 250€ per week per room
    A deposit of 35% of the rental is paid on booking, the remainder of the rental to be paid 8 weeks before the arrival date.
    A security deposit of 450€ is to be paid with the final payment and will be refunded after your stay in the house.
  • Meals can be ordered.
    A welcome hamper can also be ordered so that you do not have to go out immediately and buy food. There are several different sorts, please ask for details.

Cotignac: The village is an active all the year round village full of life. There are three bakers,, two butchers, a small supermarket, a delicatessen, numerous shops for gifts and provencal goods. A bank with an ATM. Six restaurants, three bars. Two tennis courts and a very large 'bouledrome'. In the summer months there are concerts in the outdoor theatre under the cliff. Markets at the weekends for antiques, books, crafts and numerous other things. The street market is on a Tuesday every week and should not be missed.

Activities: The area is very forested interspersed with olive groves and vineyards. It is ideal for those who love walking as there an numerous fire tracks through the forests, these are also good for mountain biking. There is kayaking on the local river, and horse riding everywhere. The Lac St Croix is only half an hour by car and there are all sorts of water sports, as well as white water rafting down the Gorge du Verdon. In the Valon du Sourn there is climbing on the cliffs over the river.
