Cotignac:
The village is an active all the year round village full of life. There are three bakers,, two butchers, a small supermarket, a delicatessen, numerous shops for gifts and provencal goods. A bank with an ATM. Six restaurants, three bars. Two tennis courts and a very large 'bouledrome'. In the summer months there are concerts in the outdoor theatre under the cliff. Markets at the weekends for antiques, books, crafts and numerous other things. The street market is on a Tuesday every week and should not be missed.
Activities:
The area is very forested interspersed with olive groves and vineyards. It is ideal for those who love walking as there an numerous fire tracks through the forests, these are also good for mountain biking. There is kayaking on the local river, and horse riding everywhere. The Lac St Croix is only half an hour by car and there are all sorts of water sports, as well as white water rafting down the Gorge du Verdon. In the Valon du Sourn there is climbing on the cliffs over the river.
