Charming, calm and romantic apartment in the heart of medieval village
Biot can be found nested in the triangle made up of Cannes, Nice and Grasse. And, because of its proximity to the sea, it makes an ideal location for a beach holdiday. Within a half-hour drive, you can easily visit all important sites of the Cote d’Azur. The holiday apartment is located on the ground floor of a three-storey “maison de village”, overlooking the “Verrerie de Biot”. The spacious and quiet square in front is still known under its former name, “Place de l’Airette” which means something like “little resting place”. Even during peak season only a few tourists find their way here to enjoy a glance over the valley and the verrerie. The foundations of the house are sunk into the volcanic rock of the hill, and were originally for a barn, constructed approximately 500 years ago. This explains the unusual thickness of the structural walls, which ensure that the apartment stays pleasantly cool and quiet during the summer months.

The apartment consists of a small bedroom (1.40m double bed), a bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin, a living room with an integrated kitchenette. It comfortably accommodates two people. One or two additional people can sleep on the sofabed in the living room. The satellite TV receives diverse channels in German, French and English. Wifi access can be provided. The open terrace in front of the studio is reserved for our guests: to relax after a day at the beach, to enjoy a “Pastis” before dinner, to read, or whatever pleases you. Most appealing is the ideal location. Very quiet, and yet in the heart of the village, where direct car access is not possible. Biot has been able to retain its individuality and authenticity which is reflected in its narrow streets, cobbled roads and many other hidden charms. That is probably the reason why the famous tourist guide Michelin nominated Biot as one of the nicest 'Detours de France'.

Biot is ideally situated for attractions along the coast and inland, from beautiful beaches to a range of interesting provencal villages. The local village of Biot is typical : known for the crafts of glass-blowing and pottery, it retains its charm with regular festivals and markets held in the village square. Visit Antibes with its 16th century ramparts and Europe's biggest yacht habour. The famous Cannes Film Festival and the Grand Prix at Monaco are within easy reach. Or enjoy the attraction parcs Marineland and Antibesland at 2 km distance. Join the early evening promenade along the Croisette at Cannes or relax at one of the pavement cafes to watch the world go by. Visit the Casino at Monte Carlo. Fourteen of the Riviera's best golf courses are within a 20 minute drive and the French Alps ski resorts are 60 minutes.

| Notes: | Most appealing is the ideal location of the apartment. It is very quiet, and yet is in the heart of the village, where direct car access is not possible. When you arrive, you can unload your car close to the apartment. Parking, however, is outside the village fortifications, where there are several free public parking areas to choose from. The apartment is then reached after a few minutes walk uphill through the old village itself. |
